A channel devoted to all things Warhammer 40k but will mainly focus on strategy / tactics, both for newer players looking to learn the game as well as more advanced players just trying to improve. I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since the mid-90's & either own or have owned practically every army at one point in time.
While I've done a lot of tournament play over the years I *heavily* care for & support the casual scene as well - One of my main goals is to get more players participating in the strategic side of things, which along with all the other great aspects of this hobby is one of my favorites parts of playing wh40k

Sometimes I think, i dont overrate the big ones. In one game i lost Skarbrand and a Bloodthister against a bunch of Ctan. Maybe some bad dice rollin. But since then i try to avoid those Ctans and use our uppy downy to change the place to an area where are no Ctan. Once i just placed a blocking unit every turn to the Ctan, so they could not leave the sidefield anymore. Worked perfectly. And i think Bloodcrusher a a very good replacement unit for the big ones as damage-dealer. And they are no monsters or vehicle. No one has anit-mounted weapons. And some missions say kill something big. Well Broodcrusher don't count here again.
Idk if anyone's said this but the soul grinder does have a base and it's way bigger then a Guos base so his actual in terrain layouts I've played impossible to move without just up downing him. His a couple mm short of completely covering an objective marker which is funny if you just keep him back field.
Oh god yeah that base is complete BS hah. Luckily though, the instruction booklet for the Soul Grinder says to only base the model for AoS / Fantasy but not to use one for 40k - so feel free to rip that bad boy off if you'd like 😜
as someone who has been watching a lot of your videos recently, I don't see you build lists with screamers and a fateskimmer. I think they're just as good (if not better) at scoring then most of the units in the army. Getting to yoink themselves back to strategic reserves is really undervalued when it comes to scoring a sticky point or whatnot. the changeling is a good cheap option but both of those combined gives you a lot of map control that I think daemons sometimes lack. Skarbrand will decimate an army by himself in melee combat anyway (with some backup of course), so having more map control is always nice when you don't have to worry about anything like that haha
You're spot on actually, my latest lists almost always bring Screamers along these days! I used to bring max Flamers but now it's normally a mix of the two. I love them for so many things with their 14" movement, but I've found them to be incredible move blockers especially (along with scoring ofc). I don't bring Fateskimmer as much as I should but yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you're saying. I've been wanting to do some updated army lists to show off what I & others have been running, your comment makes a good reminder 😜
Kairos is my favorite model in all of warhammer... it sucks that he isn't super great at what he does. I hope he gets a good rehaul or at least a buff in the next codex
Even though I rated him low, I genuinely think Kairos can still be competitive in the right circumstances (the aura can be game winning!), buuuut, yes when you start comparing him to the others he does leave a bit to be desired.. I'm in the same boat as you though, hopefully the codex gives 'em a good rework

Also! I remember in a video you asked for some ideas for your channel - although the content you push out is amazing anyway! I was wondering if you could maybe do a video dedicated to our daemon made lists - like I would love you to review my list, maybe weigh up the pros and cons of it, create suggestions or maybe even rate it! Like maybe it could start off as a video where you talk about some great mono/mixed lists and then you encourage myself and others to send in ours - could lead to another video to what I was originally saying! Thoughts on Renegades Terminator sorcerer lord with hound and 10 terminators vs doing rapid ingress. OR is it worth going terminator sorcerer with 5 terminators to rapid ingress to engage a unit while using the death hex on terminator target or another unit nearby for your other units to target.
Hmmmm, I think in MOST situations Rapid Ingress is the best way to bring units in but there's a lot of variables to consider so it's hard to say for certain. I think if I did a brick of x10 (or anything getting spendy like that) Rapid Ingress would def be my main way of dropping them in, just so they don't lose out on any value / get where I need them. Whereas with a 5man either way works & in truth with Death Hex you're prolly better off doing normal DS so you can Hex your target but still save the CP. As for which I think is better, I'd vote the 5man, I think 10 Termies is just too expensive for what you're really getting at the end of the day! Don't be afraid to run a Termie Sorc on their own either, they're deceptively resilient with the ability to blank damage on top of their 2+/4++
I'm a knight main, this is all pretty good advice. One thing you kinda mentioned but got a little wrong is know your enemy's strategems! Shoulder the burden is definitely great, but even Canis has to pay 1 to use it, and also it's once per GAME unless the army becomes honored, which is something else you should add: Don't throw your warlord into the fray unless you really mean it. If that warlord dies, and the knight player gets honored, you're in for a much worse time after that. Play cagey with your warlord, or watch your back line if that's the one they take (which realistically, almost no one does). The CP dump and 5+ FNP is a big momentum shifter. The other big strat to watch out for is Squire's Duty. Those helverin autocannons become a LOT scarier at AP-2, and strength 10 is one of those stat checks that tends to change the wound roll from a 5 to a 4 for a lot of vehicles. But yeah, overall, we're not that hard to beat, if you play for points, and ignore the big boys as long as you can afford to.

Lol, I've had GREAT results with my Heldrake actually! The model is too cool not to run so I couldn't help it. Really really hope GW would chill out on their points cost though! Soulforged takes them up a notch though, tbh I think they'd be fine in a casual setting
Woot, uber noobs are one of my main targets so it's awesome to see you were able to find this video / found it helpful! Deploying & scoring are some of the fundamentals, make sure to keep that scoreboard in mind & I'm sure you'll see your gameplay improve
I love my Shalaxi. If I can get her into my opponents lines they are done for. If not they have spent too much time and fire power keeping her away they are done for anyway. My favourite new trick is hiding her in deployment behind belakor so she can’t be shot with his shadows. If opponent gets first turn I spend the CP to pick Belakor and Shalaxi up. They “must” come back next turn. Turn one deep strike with a Shalaxi 6” away

So, I am really contemplating starting a daemon army. I have the combat patrol, Belakor, and a lord of change. The only things holding me back is where to go next. I love Nurgle so will probably go heavy that route. What would you suggest?
Hmm, well you have a great base to work off of so really you could go almost any direction & come out alright I would think! If you already have the CP, grabbing Skarbrand or a Bloodthirster wouldn't hurt but otw for stuff that'd be universally helpful (imho) I'd recommend a box or 2 of Nurglings + a squad of Plaguebearers. Both of those are ran in the majority of Daemon lists & will carry their weight utility wise. If you want to go heavy into Nurgle than instead of Skarbrand you could get a GUO to go along with those guys. Don't forget scoring so I'd eventually look into something speedier as well; Plague Drones for Nurgle or Flamers/Screamers for Tzeentch But yeah, I'd think Nurglings for sure, Plaguebearers because they're so cheap $ wise too. Beyond that a Greater Daemon of your choice (GUO or Skar/BT). Instead of a scoring unit you could grab another heavy hitter too, so think Soul Grinder and/or some more Bloodcrushers or the sort :) Hope that helps!! You legit have a great start so it'd be hard to mess up no matter what you get PS: If you plan on using your Bloodletters consider either converting a Bloodmaster or grabbing Skulltaker. Ohhh a Rendmaster would be sexy too lol (& is only $45!)

You have to grab it from their Github & add it manually now. I'll post a link down below, lemme know if it gives you trouble though Open up BattleScribe and click to add a new repository (big orange plus at the bottom right). Then click on the button to manually add a repository (the small grey plus at the top of the screen). Paste the URL you previously copied and you're done. I agree about almost everyone but I would swap Shalaxi and Be'lakor. Shalaxi is certainly overpriced but the sheer damage output she brings is awesome. She is the best duelist in the game bar none, and if played well you can just point at any of your opponent's model and simply say "dead". I don't always get 450pts worth of kills from her but very often I do, and it tends to be the 450pts my opponent doesn't want to loose. Unfortunately you have to find a way to get her around screens which limits her effectiveness. But overall it's more about the feeling, she looks awesome and feels like playing a nuke. On the other hand Be'lakor is mostly useful for the fake lone op aura he gives but that only really works on turn 1 because as daemons you don't really want to stay 18 inches away from your opponent. You don't get a lot of damage output out of him most of the time, most of the important things you'd want to kill have an invuln, I find that AP above -2 is wasted most of the time in this game. Also he's not a greater daemon technically so F tier
I was discussing this today with a friend who asked me if I was afraid of this happening and I told him I'd be pretty okay with it if it happened. So basically I have a bunch of daemons. I hate space marines in general but Thousand Sons, Death Guard, Emperor's Children and World Eaters have some sick models that I actually like especially the daemon primarchs. But if I want to start, say a death guard army, I need 1500pts of new models because I can only use 500pts of daemons right now in a DG army. If they split chaos daemons and put them with the space marine legions, presumably they'd remove the limit on how many daemons you can run in your army, so I could basically just get the models I really like from each faction, like maybe 500pts of each, and associating them with 1500pts of daemons from each god I'd potentially have four fresh armies. I could tolerate that on the condition that we get some of the terribly cool AoS models because oh man those are sick. That being said, two things. First, my main wish is that daemons stay exactly as they are right now for as long as possible, I kind of wish for the codex to be far away because the balance dataslate has finally made them good and opened so many new lists not revolving systematically around Be'lakor. Second, given the infuriatingly high price of models, I would normally not be very happy about GW forcing me to buy even 500pts of new models to be allowed to play my other models that I already have. But since I have a 3D printer, f them.
Oh god, the real joke was when I released my "how to deploy for T1" video just for them to announce Pariah the same day. Most of the vid is still accurate but oof, that one hurt lol (the vid revolved around scoring secondaries on T1 so all the rule changes shook it up... A lot)

Excellent Video! I started with Tzeentch as an ally to my Thousand Sons (in 8th) and moved on to Nurglings, and the Great Unclean One (with shiny gems...chaos). I am gluing my Plague Drones and working on enough models to go full Nurgle as an option. Your advice helps my orders of construction for what I have.
Yeah using them as allies is basically I how started my Daemon collection too. Needed some friends for my Death Guards, realized how awesome the other gods looked too & it sorta grew from there 😜 Hopefully we get some awesome new kits once the codex drops too

I'd say Fights First is one of the most powerful rules in the game so knowing good counters is huge 😜 I had someone else who ended up winning their game after using that "sacrificial unit" method so I bet you'll have some good luck too hah Appreciate your comments & letting me know you dug these. Dumb question... Can I pay a greater unclean 1 with my death guard list? The army builder app, newrecruit, won't allow majority of demons to be attached. Is it a design issue or could I run a list with Mortarion and greater unclean 1, or Rotigus even? Maybe I'm confused, skipped over some rule, or something else 😅 Please help
You can indeed! You just have to bring a Nurgle Battleline unit for each other Daemon you bring along. Luckily Nurgle is spoiled because we have Nurglings, so yeah just toss in x1 Nurglings + x1 GUO & you're golden :) If you want to bring more you'd have to bring another set of Nurglings first & you can only have up to 500pt of Daemons in total Hope that helps!! Edit: you could also bring Plaguebearers instead of Nurglings if you wanted! Rotigus is a great choice too if you wanted him instead of a GUO
So the issue with the Termie Lord (imho!) is mainly the bodyguard he has to work with + competition from the Terminator Sorcerer who I think is better in most regards. Terminators are inefficient compared to other options atm so they drag down the Leaders they have access to unfortunately. He's also kinda selfish with his buffs, the -1CP can be fantastic but halved dmg only works on himself (tho some enhancements will give him more value). Thaaaat said, Termies are not *bad* they're just slightly behind compared to their competition so it's not unworkable or anything. Termie Lord is also deceptively decent as a singlet all on his own. 2+/4++ with halved damage is spicy & will require actual firepower to take out, granted I think in most cases you still want to give him a bodyguard. Really it comes down to though: do you have Strategems you need to use on your Termies? & are those strats better than +1AP & rr charges? There's some fun enhancements out there too, Shroud of Obfuscation comes to mind for Lone Op etc
Thanks! I actually have a video all about Fight Phase tactics that goes into the specifically if you want to check it out. The easiest way is to have a sacrificial unit that you throw in first -> get as many models as possible into b2b but leave a small gap for a 2nd squad to get within 1" of your target. They'll be stuck with the first squad so the 2nd will have free reign. The other way is to charge a diff. enemy unit next to their fight first & use a MW ability to clear the screen then pile into the FF one (FF is checked at the very start of the Fight Phase. I think we'll get EC this edition but it might be near the end. I'm wondering if they'll have, like, a "winter of Chaos" or something & bust out all the new kits / codices / etc then release EC last as the topper
Can't argue with that! Lol. Tbh I ended up using the Cacophony Squad from Horus Heresy as mine. They're *slightly* smaller but my god do they look cool (imho). There's some good 3d prints & 3rd party options out there (Wargane Exclusives has some dope kits for example)
@@fatarchon oh there are some great options, and I did get the kit to fit to a reasonable degree. Shame that they, like Lucius are in need of a refresh, but I do love my converted Lucius XD I find they work best in small squads of 5 to grab objectives in raiders, they love that ap
