Haha 😜 Nah for real I'd try to use Line of Sight to my advantage & get potshots off while only being targetable by a single unit if you can help it (or force your opponent to move into a bad spot to shoot them). Otherwise the Daemonettes want to be in melee so i guess just use Obscuring to get up the board as safely as possible! Hopefully she gets a price break when the codex drops

Oh god, yeah I tried collecting AdMech back when they released & I worked at like Subway... Dont even know how I afforded it lol. Also - dangit, I wish I remembered to bring up alternative figures!! Bones is a really good one I've used for a bunch of models, that's a fantastic suggestion & a smart move

GUO would be a *great* pick to go along with it - he was by far one of my favorite models I ever painted to hopefully you have some fun with it too. Obviously I'm biased but Daemons are just so amazing on so many levels - if you like painting they're pretty up there imho, they don't have crazy amounts of trim like certain other armies but some of their models can be really intricate & fun to show off or practice with :P I'm a sucker for Nurgle but I finally came around to enjoying painting my Slaanesh (literally doing it right now!) & they're great hah. I think their playstyle works great into Necrons too, pretty much only the C'tan is something I'd be worried about & even then a Rendmaster would make them a joke

Yeah I saw the writing on the wall when Combat Patrol started to come a thing & stocked up on multiple of pretty much every SC! Kit could get my hands on. CSM had an exceptional one too.. Kind of trippy to think most of my collection's *gained* value since I first got them all hah

So… before I do, I need to pick your brain. You seem down on Daemonettes. But isnt a full squad of them lead by Syll (30 attacks w/Devastating Wounds on 5+) great? What am I missing? Is it one of those situations where it is nice on paper but in an actual battle trash? Thanks for your time!

I think I've been a LITTLE too harsh on Daemonettes & tbh I kinda regret bringing up my issues in this vid because of the Golden Rule & all that. But, 110pt & being only S4 is pretty painful compared to a lot of other options out there. Syll'esske definitely takes them up a notch, tho as a heads up it still has to be a successful wound of 5+ so it won't work on anything T8+. They still get dev Wounds on 6's regardless so they'll plink damage off anything & mulch most stuff T7 or less. So yeah they're fine just don't let them get shot. Even Bolters will wipe a squad if they get LOS I fully expect them (& Slaanesh as a whole) to get some big buffs come the Codex so if you like them def grab some. They're cheap as chips $$$ wise anyways

Woot! Mono Tzeentch is a great pick, I've seen a few lists running it out in the wild & with all the tricks Daemons have up their sleeves I'd argue they're pretty strong even! Happy to hear you figured out your god, just wait until you're adding an entire contingent of Nurgle or Khorne etc on top of it 😜

Heh yeah that's been my fear too, that they make it BORING. Slaanesh = Adv & charge. Khorne = Lethal Hits . Nurgle = +1T (or -1T?), Tzeentch = Sustained Hopefully we get the decent Codex team & they actually give us something fun

I remember that time too & I was absolutely furious too. That was half the reason I got into Chaos, the fact I could mix & match all the different armies. Luckily I didn't sell them but I've probably sold half a dozen other armies over the years & I regret it every single time hah

Well they weren't mentioned in the road map which goes to thru to summer, so the very earliest would be Fall! So, we've got a little while to go :) Luckily we have so many options to work with there's a lot of depth but yeah, would be nice to spice up the detachment rules

Hmm, well I've never owned them (sadly! I'd totally play DoK if I did AoS lol) but I recall seeing some conversions where people had put SM torsos on them that looked pretty rad, so if you ever went *that* route you'd have easy Possessed or Chosen or any of those kinds of infantry, even a MoP or other characters. Even without much converting they'd prolly make for fine Accursed Cultists (Torments). For Daemons, there's not many Slaanesh ones with 40mm bases off the top of my head but if you built up their base so it was tally/bulkier looking I could totally see a Daemon Prince. With a bit of conversion & a longer base I could totally see Fiends potentially. DoK have some winged units that'd make beautiful Chaos Furies tho those are Legends in 40k. The DoK cavalry would make easy Seekers. If you were ever into Drukhari they'd make for easy Sslyth For Nids the... Newer named character that injects would with eggs would be pretty spot on I think, whatever it's name was lol Probably not the best suggestions but hopefully gives you some food for thought :)

Glad to hear I was able to get you hyped on Daemons!! They're such a fun army so you're in for a treat hah For Nurglings, I wouldn't be surprised if a decent # of secondaries didn't require Actions (Engage on All Fronts, Behind Enemy Lines etc) + they'll still be one of the best counters to other Infiltrators or doing moveblocks yada yada - so I think they still have really good value but tbh we need to see what all the new cards are before we can say for sure I doubt they're a 3 of with every single list but ~1-2 will probably be a good route still! If you convert them to multiple bases you're getting 6-9 bases from a single kit too so they're ultra cheap $$$ wise

That'd actually be a decent subject, OW can definitely burn you (ba-da-ting). I guess some quick tips off the cuff would be: They can't OW if you Rapid Ingress (has to be on your movement/charge phase), so sometimes you can make sneaky plays with that Even in your turn, DS out of sight so you can charge through a ruin or the sort. Sometimes it's worth the extra distance if it keeps them alive Try to bait it out with another unit or give him a hard choice. So like, shove a scary unit straight in his face but have the juicy one waiting to move next I sort of hinted at but sometimes it's worth risking the longer charge, so like if he moved within 8" just roll for it instead of moving closer. Obv you have to weigh the risks + try to keep a rr Last option is... Shoot him! LoC or Flamers of your own to screen can do wonders Hopefully those give you some food for thought & great suggestion! A lot of players don't even bother with OW so it's easy to get caught off guard by armies that do it well

I miss him :( His GUO sculpt is one of my favorite prints ever, I just painted it the other week & now it sits in my 'showcase' section hah

Khorne legit would be a good partner, Bloodcrushers are esp resilient & can keep up with the speed Slaanesh brings + Bloodletter Bombs are cheap & efficient (both irl $$$ & points wise), just be sure to include a Rendmaster if you're able. The other option is the more straightforward route of Tzeentch. Gives you great shooting & obj control to sit back while Slaanesh rushes forward. Lord of Change, Pink Horrors & The Changeling are some of the standouts there. Not sure if it's something you'd care to checkout but my 'how to get the most out of Daemons in 2024' video has a full breakdown for their comp play - I only went over a handful of Slaanesh but might still give you some ideas to work with

Nurgle is also great tbh lol. Great Unclean One with the Enhancement is one of THE most efficient models in the game. The speed isn't that big of deal because A. They can sit on obj while everything else rushes up & B. You can Deepstrike everything! Turn 1 even heh Legitimately you can't go wrong with whichever god(s) you pick. Heck don't be afraid to just pick & choose your favorites from each god but obviously that wouldn't be as thematic :)

I wouldn't sweat it man, BT isn't far behind Skarbrand as it is. Heck he was the better option up until they increased his points so you were on the right track! I'm sure they'll change everything up come the Codex or next MFM :P but yes, Skarbrand is pretty badass lol

I'm liking your style but I think you still need at least SOME chaff to do secondaries & the sort. But yes you could make your list like 90% GDs & prolly come out OK

Funny timing, I literally just organized all my Daemon models earlier today & decided to put together a Nurgle list I'm planning to take to my next game. I have like 15 Plague Drones so best to make use of them lol Congrats on your tournament run!! Yeah I think people underestimate Nurgle. Heck a lot of people underestimate Daemons in general for some silly reason

So, it's not an aura (not even sure if those are still unstackable in 10th tbh) & the ability text doesn't say anything about being restricted so it *is* legal. I ram 2 of them once a long time ago but otw I only ever use 1 + I'd never bring it to a casual game aside from for the the memes lol. It sounds ultra powerful & it sort of is but is extremely uncommon... I've can't recall a single tournament list where someone brought more than 1. You'd think it'd be everywhere! I'm guessing it's just too many eggs in one basket / that's all he really does?

@@fatarchon Its really weird, some people say since it isnt a core ability nor an aura it can, but some say since its the same name ability it cant. More often people seem to say its allowed?

In my experience / to my understanding it's allowed. It's possible there's confusion from 9th edition because that had rules about not being able to stack abilities with the same name last I checked 10th doesn't include that (only auras I believe). I think I saw something about WTC making a rule they don't stack but then someone said that too was from 9th But yeah, I've seen the debate come up a few times before & every time we ended up deciding it was still legal. I just googled (for only like 5min admittedly) & everything I've seen so far says it's still good to go It looks really powerful & in many ways it is but sincerely don't sweat it too much, I keep pretty close tabs on tournament lists & I've *never* seen more than a single one ever get ran (tho I'm sure someone's tried it!). If someone ram x3 I'd prolly be happy, that's almost 500pt devoted to buffing, I'd just kill their main threats & call it day.... Hopefully lol
