The Night Lords subfaction in 9th had a terrible rule but had amazing WLTs, Relics and Stratagems. I’m hoping with the enhancement we’ve seen from Dreadtalons that this is following the trend. The SoulForged warpack looks amazing and as a daemon engine fan I am loving this new detachment. It makes daemon engines feel like what they are in the lore, possessed machines of mass destruction with little care for their own preservation.
Ngl I had a feeling Dread Lords would get slapped with -1ld because yeah that's always been their ability. You're spot on though it's very possible they get some enhancements/strats that push it over the edge (I also bet some of the more skilled players will be able to pilot them to the top tables) I'm over the moon with Soulforged Warpack though - Daemon Engines were basically the reason I got into CSM so any excuse to get them on the table works for me. They might not work so well into Ork hordes but I suppose we have the rest of the army to shore that up
@@fatarchonIt might be ok, there seems to be a heavy emphasis on flying models. Raptors already get a -1LD for 6” and causes battleshock for those they charged. So we might see some fun synergies and tricks. With what was said there seems to be more things to do with leadership in the detachment so there might be some strats that come up. Also we haven’t seen how dark pacts affects them yet, maybe like the soulforged you get +1 to wound against battleshocked targets.
This detachment is BROKEN :D Forgefiends are good as it is, now they are somehow better!?! 3 forgefiends with a warpsmith and vashtor wound small knights on a 2+??!!?!?!?!!
@@fatarchon I like the defiler in this detachment more. Helbrute I like with double powerfist and flamers in veterans of the long war. Those 12 flamer shots and buffing oblits that are shooting the oath target while ignoring cover with indirect 🤣
@@nicolaistojanov6464 dude, seeing the Defiler FINALLY get it's glow up almost brings a tear to my eye lol. It's looking so good right now, probably going to try running x3 :P
Nah that'd be Veterans of the Long War :P lol, nah I think CSM bring too many unique profiles for that to be a good comparison (imho! Obv we all have our own playstyles / opinions). What's cool is you don't *have* to play into the gunline or heavy toughness builds, it can work with just about anything even melee I'd say Admittedly I don't play SM's so maybe it's a closer playstyle than I imagine but I don't see it that way! The Strategems are way better imho too
