I remember buying an album from a used record store of a Canadian band called Butler. Fredette's band before teaming with Mitchell. Can't find any tracks from it online. Anyone else ever hear about it? It had a sort of new wave feel to it.

The guess who came to pittsburgh, and I was going to spend 100 dollars when I found out they weren't the original. I was mad ,but I saved money.

“Sweet City Woman” my favourite song of all time, I first listened was about 17~18 in the 70’ and I play it often on my mobile phone. RIP Ronnie King!

This was very interesting to watch! :-) Lawrence Gowan is absolutely right about Genesis and Peter Gabriel around '76/'77. And he fits quite well in Styx, by the way.

I met them at at free concert in Lakeside at the Haborfront in Toront thanks to my facebook friend Gary who use to be there Roadie. I got meet the last three original members of the band. Its the only t-shirt I have that was well made and still holds together. I did a painting commemorating fifty years of their music. It meant still does mean alot to me.

Still love the band… the tongue in cheek lyrics were absolutely brilliant… well done son of Glasgow! For some reason the following lyrics have always struck with me… “Your footsteps sound so hollow Empty street or empty man.” …and pretty much all of “Power Cut” through to “… the Twilight Zone”

San Antonio loved Canadian bands in the 70s. Rush, Moxy, Triumph, The Hunt, Garfield, Max Webster, April Wine....they were all huge in SA Tx! And of course we listened to the mainstream stuff...BTO, Guess Who.

To my ears, Les Emerson is the greatest unsung Canadian songwriter. His songs had catchy melodies, tight harmonies, intelligent lyrics and energetic arrangements. Who else wrote an AM radio song about an alien visiting Earth like he did with `I'm A Stranger Here'? Who else sought to create a genuinely scary but radio friendly rock song like he did with `Werewolf'? Who else composed a tune that equated love with consumerism like he did with `Money Back Guaranteed'? And who else wrote a Top 10 Hit that highlighted how public notices promote small-minded conformity like he did with `Signs'? Yet how many Canadians know about this gifted singer, musician and composer? Damn few, I suspect. Certainly, nowhere near as many who know about Gordon Lightfoot, Randy Bachman, Joni Mitchell, Burton Cummings, Leonard Cohen, Ian Tyson and Alanis Morrissette? To my mind, Les Emerson belongs in that club of elite Canuck musical artists.

By the time Please Don't Touch came out, I felt the same way as Laurence about the band break-up. More good music sprouting from a single source, like a hydra's head. I couldn't wait for the next release, whoever, put it out!
