Hi there, I'm Your Forest Fairy, welcome to my corner of the woods 🧚🏻🧚🏻where I’m redesigning a magical life in my 60s. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to gather your own fairy dust, whatever your phase of life ✨✨
We'll be having honest conversations about living a holistic, purposeful and authentic life, and I'll be sharing the insights and learnings that I have gained through my life's experiences and challenges - and there have been a few!
I love big and small adventures and so will also be exploring my world in my Subaru XV - sometimes the breathtaking Overberg at the southern tip of Africa, and sometimes beyond …🌍
Together, let's sprinkle some magic over our lives! 🧚♀️💫

No candles or frills for me either! And even though I don’t relish the northern hemisphere winters, today I was out in the sunshine, enjoying the autumnal colours.
This was absolutely what I needed to hear today. Like you I have had a lot of Adulting type demands for some time and I really have to put in some effort to get some fun and adventure back! Thank you 🙏
Glad you found it useful!!! Adulting can sometimes be sooo serious & boring, & yes, I realised I have to now be intentional about#Fun&Joy! Let me know how it goes…
Well firstly, congratulations on making it this far!!! Many are not blessed to reach 60. I’m 61 & this morning I thought I owe it to myself to strive to live a wonderful life… it could end tomorrow or only 25 years 🤷🏻♀️😅😁
And a hello from South Africa!! Am so glad you enjoyed the conversation - I so wanted to share the exhibition and about fynbos… so incredibly beautiful!
I am New here and interested in your thoughts. You have posed good questions. Am I bored? Am I in a change in life? Too busy? Get out there? Adventures? Hermiting? Reading for fun? Definitely in a life change of retirement for both my husband and I. I think finding meaning in this stage is a big one for me to look at. Thanks for the fairy dust!
Welcome to my corner of the woods🌴🌳🌲 😁! Retirement is a big life change & one where you can add wonderful things… or remove the unnecessary! I surprised myself this time round with “Am I bored?”… and despite being busy, the answer was yes, a little! Different types of questions can lead to unusual or unexpected answers 😅😜
Yesssss!! Ditto, that’s on my list as well, but am scared…. I really do not like deep ocean waters & the things that go chomp-chomp in them 😂😂 Thought I’d go on a surfing retreat in the Mediterranean 🫣 where there are no sharks 😝Let me know if you do learn!!!!!
Timely video! Since early retirement and relocating a year ago, I have found it extremely challenging! Despite regularly attending Sunday school/church, library functions, a book club, a stained glass class, a group exercise class, as well as other endeavors… I haven’t made any connections or friends. Pretty tough as I get lonely living alone and being alone. But I am having fun trying new things… Just bought a ukulele😊. I will continue to forge on! Thanks so much for your content, it means so much!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the conversations. And it’s also heartwarming to hear you do so many wonderful things and forging through 👏🏻… but yes, it isn’t always easy or flows as we think it should 🤷🏻♀️and loneliness is a real thing… But it’s wonderful if you’re having fun, just breathe in all the fun! Love the ukulele… an instrument isn’t on my list 😝
I find joy in fiber arts. Processing wool in my tiny mobile home, dyeing and spinning or creating items. I quit my job recently so it's a huge risk but I needed to for my mental health, to take risks and to spend more time with family.
Sometimes we need to risk something to save ourselves💪🏻 Processing wool sounds like a great flow activity and I would imagine very satisfying - thanks for sharing!
Since moving to St Francis Bay, a typical seaside holiday destination, I have rediscovered fun & and joy! On a weekly basis the Canasta & Crafts group come together to play and hook. We make the canasta game challenging and fun by bending rules and even making new ones. The painters, hookers and knitters bring and share their ideas and projects. Even those that don't know how, are bitten and learn. ❤ Every 2 weeks, on the weekend, the working friends enjoy a cup of coffee together at some quaint tea garden or coffee shop. Fun & joy is most definately good for the soul. I am contemplating joining the "bobbers", they take a dip in the sea early every morning!!!!
St Francis Bay - beautiful!!! The group sounds exactly what one needs - challenging & fun with a dose of creativity. And what are rules for but for bending and breaking 😉 “Bobbing” is absolutely delightful, do join them. A cold bob is quite a shock but invigorating💪🏻💪🏻
Hello Brazil!!! I used to sew years ago & then lost my sewing machine in the flood🥲 But yes, very satisfying to see and idea go from creation to wearing!
Such a timely reminder to pause and reflect as we move into the final stretch of the year. I like how you emphasise starting with gratitude and making reflection a regular habit. It really does help us stay aligned with our best selves. Thanks for sharing! 6:44
Glad you enjoyed the conversation! The last quarter is always hectic as we try to finish up the year, get ready for the holidays, and, for us Southerners, get ready for summer. I need to catch my breath, decide what's important and then go!!
