Hi there! I was wondering if if you’d be interested in viewing my dads stamp collection that he had hiding in an old inherited trunk he owns. It was tucked away behind a false wall in it and there’s a medium sized bag FULL of stamps that I’m struggling with. The apps won’t tell me the value and I’m like how the hell am I going to get any values putting on them. But I wondered if you’d make a video going through it?
I am a new stamp collector which may be the reason for my observation and lack of understanding, but when you line up a stamp on your gauge it looks like you frequently ignore a perforation on the left corner of the stamp. What am I not understanding?
Exactly right. The lines are guide lines for cutting the press sheets apart into post office panes. They add nothing to the value of the stamp. They decrease value because they are straight edge stamps that collectors don't like. The great disparity in prices is because some sellers have no idea what they are doing

Just found your video and what a fantastic buy. For me the camera seems a little too close to the album pages making it hard to see clearly. Other than that found your video very nice and interesting.
An old storage unit closed near my home, a few years ago .... while letting dogs run I noticed the garage type door open....it was all cleaned except stamps on the floor and a couple boxes, full of stamps from a collector....I've had them now a few years just opened to my surprise ! I thought they were earliest maybe 1970s.....no way.....there are some dating way back to late 1800s n early 1900s! I've found many US and foreign stamps....I already collect coins so this is historically thrilling! Now I'm learning a new hobby at 60!

printing it with a copy machine over the real stamps is common in Holland .The put it on a A4 and then the put it in the machine and print it over it .
i like the way they do it, but the stamps are too simple for me with no elaboration. No actual dates and no major varieties like the plate numbers of QV .I have used Album Easy for my own collection of Greece,New Zealand,Britain, Cyprus, Cook Islands. I have an idea..instead of using mounts on my pages i use the plastic sheets to put the stamps in.I wonder if there are clear pages.

I was a stamp collector from 1983 to 2009. I am now 64 years old and starting over from scratch. What is your opinion collecting CTO? I'm now just in it for the fun. Also Scott's catalogs are so expensive. What is your opinion on Scott's catalogs in the way of not having a complete set of one year if Scott's but having som Scott's catalogs that are a few years older along with newer ones?
