I love the colors and shapes you used.I have found a way to get inspired that is good for me.I throw blobs of paint onto paper and then smush them up with saran wrap.or balloons. And use paint brush handles to make limes in the.paint.Very often I get a completely interesting creation that suggests objects and pictures.I stare at it after it dries.and then paint and draw into it and create a landscape or a surreal scene.I have also done it with dementia patients and they have created some interesting results.
Really enjoyed this video. I have used cling-wrap in the past, but this was a great reminder that I need to do it again in my artwork. I appreciate everything you share. All the best, Kathe, St. Augustine, Florida
Beautiful landscape and palette! Excellent video! Thank you for sharing your expertise. What type of masking tape do you like use? I've used painters tape and it sometimes tears the paper.
Love your work and your honest approach . You have that balance that pulls the viewer in without stating too much of the obvious but still somehow capturing the mood, lighting and character of the time, place and space. Thank you for sharing your process...so refreshing!
Thanks for this video. You are 100% right. I, too, find myself overworking some areas of my paintings. To avoid that, I usuall flip the painting upside down every 30 min or so or I go on short walks around the house !
This is an important idea. Without verbalising it I have often been aware of moving from one part a f a picture to another. I have a picture of a stormy sky over Bamburg beach that will need this idea
Great video as always. Beautiful work you do. Do you work on more than one painting at a time while layers are drying on another painting? More than one, several? Thank you.
Hi! Hope you're doing well!! Fun video! I love charcoal for so many things!!!!❤ But another thing I've had fun with is water soluble graphite! I have nice pencils for nicer drawing when I'd like to pull out parts of it so the same gray, darker actually, so it looks like the pencil line melts into a puddle. But years ago i brought, on sale!😊, this huge chunk or bar of it... its massive! But that makes it super wild marks, or bit fat marks. And I'll look dark, but, ya know, pencil dark. But then you get it wet and oh my goodness it's a gorgeous dark!!! So its fun on its own... but i also love using white paint to go over parts of it for a beautiful gray. Just more fun stuff to mess with :)❤
