My name is Sam Gaza and I am an outdoorsman from Pittsburgh, PA with a love for fishing. However, my true passion is musky fishing and I am currently doing a tour of all musky lakes, rivers and reservoirs in greater Pittsburgh in an effort to carry on the musky fishing legacy left by my poppy many years ago. Oh, and I'm filming all of it too!
All of my other hobbies seemed too self-centered so I started SG Angling to include you into my outdoor adventures and bring action-packed content your way. In season 1 I will be visiting, PA, Ohio, Indiana, New York and West Virginia from April to November targeting musky with the occasional bass catch. My goal is to entertain and educate you while collaborating with fellow RU-vidrs. All writing, filming, editing, graphic design and content creation is self-taught so join me on my outdoor journey....and don't forget to subscribe!
That is an awesome pike! Great video, just came across this as I’m trying to get into pike fishing. I’m heading to ADK this Sunday from Syracuse. Fishing from the banks. Can you give me any tips on lures you recommend from shore fishing? I have a Mepps pike set of spoons that have been working well so far. Was thinking of old forge this Sunday
Do you not catch enough fish to bump every single one? you call out a sub 40 while it's in the net and are spit on at 36. why bump a fish you've caught 10s of times?
@Arms08 50% of the fish we catch we don't bump...for the other 50% if I put the work in to catch the fish I should be allowed to bump it without some dude with cheato dust on his fingers giving me crap for it...anything else?
@Arms08 Nah you didnt strike a nerve. As I'm sure you know bumping fish is purely situational. Perhaps the water is cooler and we're all feeling particularly curious and I throw it on the bump. Maybe the water is warmer and I'm by myself and it doesn't matter if it's 36 or 38. I bump fish a lot less than I used to just to reduce handling. I'm sure the more I fish the less I will.
Ur net man set u up lol. Great job protecting the fish. I caught a 49.5 last year to the date n she went crazy jacked up my fingers trying not to let her hit the floor of my boat. Great job
Just swapped in a pair of Li Time group 24 100Ah ‘smart’ batteries 2 weeks ago. On my first outing, running a 24v Terrova, we trolled and spot locked in 30 kph winds for about 6 hours of constant run time. When we got home, I used the built-in Bluetooth to check each battery and they were only down to 81% of capacity. Simply amazing 😎 Shaved about 75 lbs of weight in the process too. Pretty damn impressed so far. Also added a new charger as my old one wasn’t lithium compatible. Went with a NOCO 10a x 2, what a slick little unit. Thought about the 10a x 2 but the 5a seems to be getting the job done.
Has fishing been a little bit slower this year for ya? I dont see as many vids as in the past. Its been a struggle for us here in pa /ohio. Catching fish but not seeing alot of aggressive follows strikes, ect. Keep up the good work. Enjoy watching your videos 👍
@whitetail229 fishing for me has been better than normal actually....but I took the summer off from fishing because of the heat and house projects...I took almost 80 straight days off
@sgangling 🤣🤣 Balance of work, family and fun. I get it! Hats off, good luck the rest of the year. Fall doesn't treat me as well with musky so time to concentrate more on the upcoming hunting seasons as well.
@jimjamfishandcook Thank you. We definitely all care about the preservation of the fish...that's the most important part...and Aaron likes to flop around in the boat like a Pike apparently 🤣
Third barb hooked the Muskie in the eye! Which causes the Fish to go blind in that eye! Need to cut the bottom barb off! To release a healthy fish with to good eye's!
@michaelbyrne8860 You are correct although the hook wasnt in the actual eye...just on the outside of it so the hook came out quite easily...also...you can't cut a barb off that impaled in a Musky without leaving the barb in the fish otherwise I would have
I don’t know much about musky’s but I caught 2 in Canada while not even fishing for them with tiny bait in cananda my dad says they were kind of small but they were above 40 in I’m confused
