This episode is years in the making. Not only is it very challenging to catch giant Pike but you have to target the perfect body of water at the right time of year and right conditions. We were able to check both of those boxes off as we tagged along with Aaron's Guide Service in the Adirondacks for a couple days in search of these elusive giants. A 40 Inch class Pike is a potential once-in-a-lifetime experience but what about multiple 40 inch class fish in a two day span?

Thanks man. Yeah he lost some real nice ones...but that's why they call it fishing, not catching!

Nice fish right away in video! But the thumb in the mouth on the release made me anxious 😬
@sgangling
@sgangling Год назад
Haha! I was waiting for someone to comment about that. He shed blood all over the boat after that release (not shown in video) 🤣

@@sgangling 😂 yeah I learned the hard way as well reaching to grab a 44 inch musky out of the net. Shook its head while I was reaching for gills and my thumb went into its mouth. 😅 bled all over the boat as well. Now I have a Med kit on my boat.

@@xinfinitebeingx6776 Yep! We've all learned the hard way. Good way to get stitches

A 57 inch what? Tree limb?
@banjohappy

@@sgangling Must have been. I live near Tupper Lake and there hasn't been a northern caught over 13 lbs in the last 10 years. Years ago they used to catch one or more over 40 inches nearly every year, but it is a rarity now.

What lake are you fishing, I live near lake George.

Lake George is a beautiful area for sure. In regards to what lake we were fishing, my brother makes a living guiding here so I won't publicly name any waters for his sake. But if you end up booking a trip with him you will find out!

@@sgangling Not enough mountains for Lake George. I'm betting it's in the St. Regis chain of lakes, maybe Lower St Regis Lake?

@@jonneilen9058 Hmm... Doesn't look like enough terrain/elevation around it for that.

@@justasimpleguy7211 I live on sacandaga lake, the western part of the lake, the terrain isn’t as high, like down by conkingville dam. Either way, some quality fish were caught and released alive.

Did you actually say "back tail"? That's as bad as saying "front shoulder" on a deer. The shoulders are in the front. The tail is in the back. No need to be redundant.

@banjohappy oh lol that was my brother. I guess the award of picking out every little redundancy goes to you! Congrats!
