I am a music producer, film composer, and musicologist. In this channel, I want to share with you my knowledge and over two decades of experience in music production, mixing, mastering, sound design, and my excitement about gear, synths, and audio secrets.
You are the worst person to learn new things or complicated things from. In my opinion you should in the background to people not the people who wants to know something new or complication. I knew a guy like you. He was VERY, VERY talented but lack teaching skills.
You are VERY talented but what I do not like about you is you assume that everyone knows what you know. So, you do not start at basic. in fact you skip a lot as if you are on a timer and you you do not have enough time to the guy what what you teaching; and in the end he is still LOST! often I skip YOU and find some else who has the time to help on how to use the new Cubase 13, for instance effect send which is NOW, NEW! We do not do effect send the old way now. You teach at a university level when some of us have just got Cubase 13. You are the worst people to learn from!!!!!!!!! You turn people off as talented as you are.
Very interesting picks! I've been using Altiverb and Valhalla for a decade now but I really enjoyed these new ones. Would you say it is worth renewing my reverb arsenal, or those two are enough? I mean, the UI is way better and more intuituve, but what about the sound? Do you think the ones you awarded are sonically better than Altiverb and Valhalla?
Thank you Dom! If there is such an opportunity, we would love to see a video where you talk about randomizing media positions (samples) right in the project window. I didn't find anything in macros and logical editor.. Thanks in advance!
Off topic but, is there midi preview in cubase? for example, in studio one you can you select an instrument track and then double click a midi file in the browser and have it playback via the selected instrument track.
The Rupert Neve MBT is so clearly better it's no question at all... that SSL fusion isn't even 1/10th as good... the fusion doesn't even sound like it's doing anything plugins can't
Where would Steinberg be without you mate haha! Thanks for all your dedicated Cubase vids. So many features in cubase we forget about or dont even know about
I have a third screen just for media bay always open. It is the best content management system out of any daw or third party apps. I only wish it would read normal plug in presets as bitwig does. Maybe in the future.
I got the whole suite on sale. Still a little pricey, but it is a matter of perspective, I guess. Excellent plugins. 1:1 software copies of the originals.
This is one of the best videos you have made so far because the vibe is the most important thing to anyone visiting or working in a studio. I think you should share with us which Computer Monitor you are using, because this is the most looked at unit in any studio. Thank You.
Very interesting video but I didn't understand everything. Sometimes you talk about sound design but without examples. I like the Blackmagic Multidock 10G. On my studio's table, I stood up my audio interface (ZOOM R8) to have the same control as an airplane pilot in his cabin. Yes, I can't wait to see your next video on your Mac Studio M2 Ultra !
I like the Kontakt Pandora and the Gravity libraries, thank you Dom for sharing this with us ! Yes, I would love to see a video of 1 hour if you show us how you search, record and build your own sounds to create your own libraries from scratch : a muscian sound designer. Searching on internet or searching in real life sounds, recording them with a microphone and building them in your studio.
Hi friend, I have a problem and I would like to ask your opinion, I use CUBASE 12 pro in wind 10, and when I make a project, I always save it as a backup, on a disk that is not the c (of the operating system) my The problem is that I use the most pro orchestral libraries, and every time I save projects, the c drive, gets fuller. I would like to ask you what the problem could be, it is strange because I am not saving my projects on my c drive where I have my operating system. (And where I have CUBASE installed) But every time I am running out of space, it seems that CUBASE is saving something on my c drive. I would love to know your opinion. Thank you very much and a big hug from the Canary Islands.
Great video Dom. Question: I've imported a midi file of a piano that was played live, recorded on a mac, onto my PC cubase 13 and all of the velocities are 127 so it's sounds weird and unnatural. Why would it do that? Is there a way to import it with the original velocities?
Hi Dom! Can you share your Mac setup, like how you set up your storage etc.? I am thinking of switching to Mac after all these years. Great stuff as always!! Thank you so much for great content.
Hello. I'm interested in how to group certain tapes, but so that I don't select the whole time line but a part. E.g. I have a project with 10 channels and a project that takes 30 minutes. The composition is composed of 8 parts. There are certain breaks between them. I want to group each part of the composition so that if I have to move left or right I don't always have to select and click G
I’m about to buy a new Mac from my old 27 inch, looking at the M2 Ultra what spec did you get dom. I’m not sure if I should upgrade to a 6tb hard drive and 96gb.
