I received the luxury box and I am definitely making the Nell dress with it for me holiday. The colours will really shine out in the sun. The pattern was on my to get list so super happy
Lovely vlog as always and this green sateen fabric will be absolutely gorgeous in the jumpsuit you've selected ❤ I am definitely on a journey to use my stash as on a fabric ban at the moment 😅
I loved hearing what new patterns have taken your fancy. I think you’ll look fabulous in all of them. Honestly, I can’t see myself in any of these, but I should never say never! Looking forward to seeing them in your gorgeous fabrics. 😘
Loving the plans Tamlyn ❤ bagged some of the modal jersey already and I’m swithering between the Rydal and sirocco jumpsuit. Hopefully I’ll have some fabric left over from either so I maybe get a tee out of it!
Would love to by a Serious Readers HD Gemini floor lamp - unfortunately it is not on their website. If you can send me a link or details of that particular lamp I would be very interested. Thanks.
@@danutasullivan9500 hi, thank you for your interest. I would highly recommend one! So, if you click this link: try.seriousreaders.com/pages/tamlyn/ Then scroll down to the high definition floor lamp - order now option. Once you go to that page, you start selecting your options (starting with the base) Once you’ve chosen your base, the next option comes up (body finish), then the ‘finish’ option comes up. Once you’ve chosen that, an option will pop up which says ‘Gemini - twin headed light’ - select yes at this point Hope you manage to get sorted x
Great new patterns and lovely fabrics! The panel fabric is stunning and will be fun to play with pattern placement. The Rydal jumpsuit will look gorgeous in the back modal jersey. Looking forward to seeing your makes. Happy sewing, Tamlyn!
I had bought the metal turner and could not get it to work and in the end used a glass straw and a wooden meat skewer, necessity is the mother of invention as they say.
I think this dress looks really great! The fabric is so pretty! I think it would work with a T-shirt under? Bit of a shame it’s tricky to fit the bodice though… but well done for persevering!!
That looks beautiful. I have that fabric and that is a fantastic use for it. I made, what was supposed to be a wearable toile out of another SHJ fabric with just one tier for the skirt. I did an FBA and it was too large. I then made the proper version in a Fabric Godmother fabric. It is beautiful but the shoulders are too loose. I agree with you about not needing another dress like that in my wardrobe. It doesn't feel like a day dress to me. I wore it at a garden party.
This is a pattern I'm hugely inspired by, although I don't own a copy, as I draft my own patterns nowadays. To address the extra volume in the bodice, if you are happy to unpick it, you could adjust the front darts. Actually I think they're princess seams. They seem to sit pretty well in the right place over the apex. So I suggest you might take out, say, no more than half an inch on each of the front princess seams. You should also take out a similar amount from the back darts to maintain the balance between the front and the back. I also think the waist seam is a tad higher at the front than at the back. You might want to raise the waist from the side seams towards the centre back by about an inch? That's what I would do, anyway. It's too pretty to be dissatisfied with it... If you want to make any dress that fits snugly, toile the bodice, try it on inside out, pin any adjustments onto the toile, transfer the adjustments (if any) to the paper pattern, and then make the actual garment 😊 Yes, it takes a bit more time, but it will save disappointment with the finished garment 😊
