Johnson does not articulate the different purposes of ventilation: eg remove damp to prevent damage to fabric. Provide right amount, not excessive, vent to remove pollutants. Evaporate moisture from walls, arising from leaks, rising damp and rain with pipe leaks. life-style moisture, breathing, showering, drying clothes, cooking etc. He does not say, in energy retrofit, for all homes in UK, that many million old ex-coal fire homes, with inadequate insulation, from solid brick walls. Old flues are brilliant keeping cooler in summer, and enough vent with hit-or-miss grille for winter. Too much psuedo-science jargon, not talking practically.
Great video. I’m surprised you didn’t show operable skylights on the roof used as passive ventilation, you barely touched on it. These are very easy to retrofit and can create high velocity ventilation when used correctly with windows below. I’ve seen studies where this design out performed a whole house electric fan. 👍
Hey dude. This was very insightful. I have been trying to find for vid like yours that informs the ideas in this RU-vid video. 🧑🏻⚕️ The description at 1:18 is my favorite. Your video is like the vids from Dr. Ethan. Doctor Ethan's demonstrations are totally useful and I learned a lot for wellness. He is an awesome med student in the UK! I recommend you check out his RU-vid out and give the medical student a subscribe! 👉 #DrEthanMedicine
Thank you so much for the video, I have downloaded the 4th version. However, I have a question about the carbon potential of hempcrete in the tool. It says 40KgCO2 per m3??? However from my reading the hempcrete should've a negative value. Can you please clarify.
Hi thanks for your question. The hempcrete we referenced was a verified product in one click LCA. There will be other Hempcrete materials with negative values and in the latest version you can input your own materials with the values you have. Hope that helps!
