Biodiversity net gain now and in the future with Arup's Austin Brown and Gwen Brassine 

Mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) will apply to large developments granted planning permission from November 2023.
In this webinar Arup's Austin Brown and Gwen Brassine cover a range of areas associated with BNG, including its continuing evolution as a practice; its strengths and weaknesses; how it is linked to the mitigation hierarchy and to other processes (such as EIAs) and, importantly, how developers and designers can embrace BNG and create great places that better connect people with nature.

Austin Brown is an Associate at Arup and has been with the firm for over 15 years, specialising in large-scale masterplanning and infrastructure projects from around the world. He is ardently opposed to greenwashing and seeks to deliver tangible positive outcomes for Nature, which is also now a driver for all projects that Arup work on.
Gwen Brassine is an experienced ecologist and delivers BNG assessments for a range of projects from small developments through to highly complex assessments for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
