I was so scared by this boss when he ran at me on fire in that tiny room that I panicked and just keep shooting arrows at his head and never struck him with the sword because I was too scared. Took like 30 minutes to finally kill him lol
Fun fact : This is the same Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time. Link returned to the past and worked with Princess Zelda to foil his plans and get him executed by the Sages. Link moved on to search for Navi in the Lost Woods and became a Stalfos, and Ganondorf was banished to the Twilight Realm for many years until his return. It's neat, because he has no idea that the Master Sword in this can kill him. The Ganondorf from Wind Waker, however, does.
This is the first Zelda game I beat. I was 10 years old. What a fantastic experience it was. It was one of the first times I played a 3D game, was challenged, and overcame that challenge. The only other challenging game that came before it was Metroid Fusion.
05:36 Of course you were supposed to get Ganondorf out of Zelda with hitting him with his own magic without harming the princess. But your were absolutely ready to beat the living sh*t out of Zelda right there.
Was I the only one who noticed in the last phase a great similarity with the battle against Garo Master from Majora's Mask. The swords coming out of his arms, the fact he closes a perimeter, the teleportation and even that strange helmet.
Nah man they need to do a game where Link is an Old Man. Maybe even Link and Zelda get married and become the rulers of hyrule and have to take Ganon down.
Fighting this boss as a kid: "I'M USING GRAPPLING HOOKS TO CLIMB INTO THE SKY AND DODGE A DRAGON'S FIRE BREATH?! HOLY CRAP THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER!!!!" Fighting this boss as an adult: "C'mon, do something."
