The U.S. Army started WW2 drafting men age 26 and up. This soon dropped to age 21. By late 1944 the U.S. Army was down to drafting 18 year olds fresh out of high school. The military had no choice. While the British had reached the end of their manpower reserves in late 1944, the U.S. could still send fresh divisions to Europe relying on high school graduates. But due to intense American public and political pressure back home, president Truman began low-level demobilization sometime as early as March 1945. Still, Truman had to ensure available manpower for the two upcoming invasions of the Japanese home islands scheduled to begin in November 1945.
Man Jack Carter looks too old to be in the army. I can’t remember the other guys name but he was on Laramie a lot. I thought Saunders (Vic morrow) would kill him with one look. I love Vic morrow. He is a kick!❤
I love the no commercials. Not that there not needed. Cause when you got to go to the bathroom you need a commercial. Commercials have gotten too boring. And. I don’t like the way they promote things any more. It doesn’t make me want to go out and buy them. It just makes me not want to use there products at all. I love cows. There really fun to be around.
Dennis weaver was such an under estimated actor. He was quite good at what he did. Gunsmoke. Combat. Mccloud. Duel movie. He is good in anything. When I think of him I always think of him as being Chester. ❤
That is hard on someone when they lose their hearing. Think of all the people out there whom are deaf. I use to have a lot of customers whom were deaf I use to wait on. I would read their lips. I had a lot of regular customers who came to me. I tried my best to give them my all cause they deserved as much attention as a person who could hear and I had one lady who was not only deaf but she could not talk either. I waited on her every day until I quit Fred Meyer. Love Vic morrows acting though superb! I truly wish we could see new combat episodes. But alas most of the original actors are all deceased. Too bad. I miss them all. ❤
And yet ANOTHER allied soldier who's needlessly and over the top hostile. If our forces were that riddled with incompetent or incapable men, we'd have lost the damn war.
