I just quickly scrubbed through the video, so I didn't get to hear your full rant. As someone who owns the Flightstick, I don't know where this opinion is coming from. Keep in mind I'm not a simulator guy nor do I have much experience with HOTAS, so there may be some technicalities I'm not considering or caring about. That said, I know the basics. This stick works just fine. It's well made, precise, feature rich, and ambidextrous. As a lefty, this severely limits my HOTAS options, and this thing has been nearly perfect for me. You mentioned the T16000M, which is the only other HOTAS I've ever owned. The TBVO Flightstick is leaps and bounds better than that piece. When I bought mine, it took three purchases to get one that was fully operational. Is the stick tension too stiff? Yes. Is this a prohibitive characteristic? No. In fact, as @Jarvice mentioned, you can trim the tension spring with minimal effort to remedy this. I haven't bothered to do this because it's not enough of an annoyance to warrant it. Should it come with its own software/driver package? Yes. Again, is this prohibitive and render it useless? Not at all. On Windows 10/11, it's plug and play out of the box. I personally use open-source AntimicroX app, and it's more than enough for my needs. Do these two characteristics warrant a public video equating it to garbage? F No. All I know is that I love mine, and balk at it being called, "trash."
question have same yoystic since today i cannot set my stuff right way when i do x y roll axis in 3.23 my ship is only flying one way with pitch yaw roll options what im i doing wrong never got the issue before and for some reason i dont have enter turrest in targeting vehicle option like u have bug?
I’m not seeing the extreme 3d profile in options in game.. I made a profile in Logitech profiler linking to SC exe but I’m not seeing this in options and joystick not working in game.. however I use to use it on 3.16 I believe not sure why it’s not working now. Help please thanks
Would love to see an updated video now that master modes are live going through the advantages and disadvantages of each different configuration for using joysticks/throttle/mouse and keyboard! Personally im still on the fence over whether i should switch from mouse and keyboard but your videos have been really helpful 👌 Especially showing both the logitech and thrust master in action, proving you dont need to spend $500+ on a joystick setup 😁

I’ve been playing using my overkill setup to see what’s easy, what’s needed, and what slows you down using joysticks with master modes…if that’s makes sense. I appreciate your feedback! Here is an early spoiler …. I am happy to say that the master modes are a game changer in every way, and it’s taken me some time to really process all the options. Xeno threat and the new industrial game play really helped me dial in what works best. It added a lot more confusion at first but it makes it a lot user friendly and that’s going to be my focus for the upcoming video series and configs The affordable stick options even more viable. I’m firmly committing to the idea that stick(s) especially are optional now. Fun? Hell yes, needed absolutely not, and if someone wants to spend 35, 70, 150ish, or 500+ the results are about the same in function. It’s more about what someone wants their setup to be. You definitely don’t need to spend much. And now I would say you should tailor your buying choice based in type of game play you like best and how much money you are putting into “fake ships” as noobifier says it. One of my current goals I’m adding for the channel will be to show the differences between practical, Casual, and enthusiastic overkill immersion options and where the diminishing returns really are CIG has made it much easier for non-stick options so it’s getting really easy to add a 1-2 other controls of any sort (like a Logitech, TM, GameGlass, or Voice Attack) and get a huge boost in immersion and performance. On stream I’ll be flying my overkill full immersive setup as I want to try it all out for the neuroscience aspect, but don’t let that fool you. I’m only needing a single stick for the actual game play stuff. The multi control is really for pushing the brain growth and rewiring n evolution state via called neuron plasticity using bilateral movement (using both right and left parts of body and mind in immersive experience) as my PhD is in psychology and neuroscience, and I’m merging my work, my passions, and my play together
I wish you prefaced the video with some context. I definitely dont want a left hand joystick right hand mouse setup. Now I have to figure out how to put the profiles back the way they were on top of still needing to set the config for my joystick :p
yeah literally none of the profiles from the video are titled the same as the downloads you direct to, a lil annoying ive spent 20 mins just on the 1st 2 minutes of the video because of that On top of you say something about having already loaded a 2nd profile as well but that didnt happen yet in the video.. :/ Now at the part actually applying the controls and Im lost as to why youre using the stick in your left hand with no explanation
Great video! I certainly did not touch on the correlation between real life cost vs in-game. And again, like I said a lot, these things are most likely going to change.
Great question. The easiest way for complete settings reset is to 1. delete the user folder since the Star Citizen Live directory. Then load up the game once so it recreates the folder 2. Then go into options menu 3. Keybindings and at the bottom click advanced settings 4. On the far right change keyboard/ mouse to Joystick/ Hotas 5. Click on control profiles do option A or B OPTION A: -download the blanks from our Star Citizen area on Survivor To Hero, and copy them into the mappings folder which is in the user directory. -Then click on control profiles again select the blank file depending on how many joysticks you have plugged in. This should delete most if mot all bindings (sometimes it bugs and doesn’t do them ALL). -verify…go through and delete all the bindings in the tree and delete any that remain. - Then in control profiles save your new banks for your setup. OPTION B -instead of downloading and importing the blanks you go down the full binding tree and delete everything then save your new blank config for another time. 6. Setup your new bindings, save them and use a unique way to identify that iteration so you can go back later to one that works as you evil evolve and test your configs

Thanks! It’s under the controls tab, next to key bindings. Input2 and invert strafe forward/back. Unfortunately I’m unable to include those in the files.
Every patch can change the way the user folder works, old settings can cause issues. Thus, CIG suggests for every patch 2 Folders of data are deleted, First is The USER Folder and the second is the shaders folder (which will increase performance). NOTE: Also if you are having frequent crashes or random log in issues, it is suggested to delete the user folder as part of your trouble shooting processes. 1. The USER Folder has all the game settings BUT that is where our key bindings are saved. -- SO first, want to copy the mappings folder or the files in that folder out and make a copy some place before deleting the user folder. 2. It is also suggest to delete the Shaders folder which can be found elsewhere / here : %localappdata%\Star Citizen
Haha, I have the Virlpil C.-Alpha's not the Alpha-Primes. I'm setting up some new VKB's. I think the VKB's are the best value, but I really love my Virpils. It comes down to value. If you play star citizen a lot with sticks then they can have great value. I'm going to play flight games until I retire or die, so Virpils have a lot of Value. 2 vkb's for the price of Warbird and Grip...Great value. I have them on my other computer. About to do some new VKB vids too.
@@SurvivorToHero Haha I just jumped into to HOSAS. Going straight to Virpils during their Black Friday sale. I've generally been a believer that you can do anything with mouse and keyboard. I would probably still say this but the sticks do totally change the feel compared to high APM key spam and are very enjoyable. My whole process of learning has been racing, arena commander, and a little low-flying in the PU so I realized I still struggle at some fine movements like landing if I don't enable the speed limiter. I'm trying to leave linear curves for now. I'm not as good as was on keyboard yet but no finger gymnastics or feathering keys feels good.
@@Accuracy158 this is great to hear! Virpils are for life, I just repaired mine with a broken trigger spring via warranty. Taking it apart and fixing it myself reminded me how user servicing friendly and incredibly designed and over built these are. When I first started with my Virgil’sI had similar experiences with the fine motor skills. I advise to not play with curves. Rather, try slowing down to master the feel of smaller movements and at scm or below speed. These maneuvers require the full fine motor skills, less brain adrenaline(norepinephrine) and enhance depth of leaning. (norepinephrine, and allow more dopamine and serotonin and acetylcholine to be involved). I’m recording a lot of joystick content to put together to help with the brain training around this too. In Star Citizen of the best trading experiences you can have on the Virpirls for really fine tuning skills, practice flying bigger ships with less forgiving maneuverability I really learned by taking a retaliator down to do bunker missions, and work on the circling in and making slow smooth landings. That ship is like a b52 Flying Fortress plane and also like heavy tank that wants to fall out of the sky. I have been playing around with various precision config controls on virpil and will post a more concise video on it later this week
I believe so, I lent my right VKB NXT EVO Right Stick out, but I love them. I cannot stress enough how great they are if you want to do a lot of flying. At $165'ish each thats a big chunk of money; however you wont be dissapointed with them and get around 64 total buttons. I used the EVOs for about a month or so when testing and setting up configs, and found it really hard to go back to my VirpIls. Edit: If one does want Evo Duels and money is an issue but logitech is in range, I recommend finding 1 or 2 friends who might buy the logitech from you at a discount as you soon as you have the evo cash.

Strange it must be remembering two sticks when I saved that profile. Could be 3.22 vs 3.18. But I’ll assume that it was me. I just finished the new 3.22 for the thrust master configs. But have not done w the video yet. I’ll update the Logitech config next and do a quick video of the new 322 settings for it

The 322 patches had really big updates that took me some time to find the right setup that would last. I ended up standardizing the Logi3D and TM16 setups to be pretty close to each other for a much more intuitive and modular approach. Ok I heard both you and noobifier quick question is the stick even viable for left handed use like my off hand for throttle and roll and my right hand main stick (VKB) for aim?
no im asking since the stick is trash is it even viable for usage as the offhand stick for just throttle and combat binds and all my aiming is done on my other VKB gladiator?@@SurvivorToHero

I’m spending a lot of time putting together some new vkb configs right now using AV1s setup, and discovered powerful setups coming with master modes. The answer NOW actually is YES! It CAN be very viable and good. You will want to focus intentionally to choose the setting that works the best for how you want the ship to feel and fly These 3.22 and 3.23 throttle changes make almost any stick good! IF you take some time to customize for your feel of flying. TO DO THIS: Prep part 1 - You want to test this in arena commander offline mode - master mode free flight === Prep part 2 - To begin we want to set up the fail safe controls with the right and left levers: - FIRST very LEFT side LEVER, to the acceleration limiter ( abs), this is a fuel choke and reduces power to thrusters. So you can get a full fine tuning feel of what we do next. -NEXT very RIGHT side LEVER to speed limiter(abs) === PREP PART 3 The new settings to play with are with are 3 throttle options -forward/ back (relative and absolute) and -fwd/back (abs) and - fwd/back (rel) Part 4 unbind the throttle and set buttons to forward back and the main stick to speed limiter relative. - Speed limiter (rel) Once you get a feel of how each setting works then bind boost, space brake and master mode toggles And see how that changes the feel
Thanks, great to know, so annoying that people have to spend that much money and then mod it and void the warranty to make it usable. I thankfully returned mine right away. The VKB has way better features and use case. For XBOX and Starfield, maybe but having more buttons and dialed in controls for the same money.

I tried to Logitech 3d pro and it didnt work for me, maybe it was broken. Thrustmaster 16000m was a good entry but after a while the lack of precision started to bother me. I just bought an upgrade 😃

@@SurvivorToHerooh, interesting! It’s too late for me now, though! I got Virpil Joysticks with Z Extension for the left stick. That setup is perfect. It is expensive but it’s a single time purchase and lasts forever even with heavy use. I heared VKB is a good middle ground between price and accuracy.
Just found the video. Ive been using HoSaM for SC for years now. I use the Extreme Pro in left hand and Logitech trackball in my right hand. Very immersive and accurate for me.
Gimme my game controller, keyboard n' mouse any day over all the peripheral "CRAP" that's on the market. I have MSFS 2020 and Aero Fly FS4 and I use nothing but game controllers, a mouse and keyboard for both SIM's. Tried tested and true, no hassle set ups, they just work "Period !". "Less Is More", always !😉
I appreciate that thought. It's a personal choice. A game controller makes sense. For me though flying sticks is just a very fun and immersive experience. There is also a neuroscience benfiit that can occur from complex motor skills involved in navigating equipment. Controls, mouse, and keyboards have that too, just a different degree than driving a car or using flight sticks for space and flight sim.
Agreed. Hard to beat a controller especially one as well designed as the Xbox model. lol The reviewer got it right, controllers are always better than overpriced, gimmick laden toys. The flightsim peripheral experience overall, no matter the brand is a complete joke when you consider price vs actual game immersion. Save some cash, kick the most ass & not look like an idiot? Controllers all day baby!
this logi has extrem deathzone, you cant aim prezise without external joy tools how joy curves and njoy drivers. xbox controllers has extrem deathzone too
Yes I replaced the logitech. and the deadzone of the new one is very small. It may have been my fault for it falling once or twice or twisting too hard. I managed to fix the controls but the deadzone issue remains, the spring inside isn't the best quality
This is a shame. I was considering this because the hotas has a throttle that has the same issue as this does with it's joystick, that black hole neutral you fight out of and jump. It doesn't look bad at first but it grates on you. I ended up modifying my hotas to make it better but you couldn't do that with this.
It's a shame, we have no real choic on Xbox. The hotas has a loose throttle with a nasty notch. Could the stiffness be something that improves with time? Obviously the travel won't but maybe it gets smoother and easier precision?
I read the 3dExtreme Pro works with Xbox..I'm tempted to try it some time and see if I can get two of them working in HoSaS. If the spring mod on turtle beach helps that could be interest...over priced...I might see if the VKB's can work too. Is there an game you would recommend to test it with?
