Hi, my name is Ari. On this channel, I share how I overcame bad digestive issues and finally got my energy for life back.
Here are the 3 main things: - EAT ENOUGH FOOD: Starving yourself doesn't work. Your body doesn't run on air. Make sure to eat plenty of energizing foods full of nutrients. - FOLLOW YOUR CRAVINGS: Your body is not stupid. If you crave something, there's got to be a good reason for that. Ask yourself why you're craving a specific food. Then either eat it or solve the underlying issue. - ENJOY LIFE: Stress will hurt you more than eating a specific way. Make sure to get plenty of sleep, sunshine, and spend time with friends.
ABOUT ME: I tried all sorts of restrictive diets from my late teens to mid-twenties to get a six-pack. I achieved my goal, but also messed up my digestive system along the way.
After years of experimenting, I've finally found a way of eating that makes me feel and look good. I'm also much less stressed and finally enjoy life again.
Thanks for these perceptive comments. I totally agree that, after quitting coffee, we make better decisions because there's no adrenaline rush clouding our judgement. Also, I think we're less inclined to be irritable with others - which may be related to better sleep and less anxiety.
I wanted to buy a juicer and juice tubers (, only carrots) and all thpes of fruit for flavor variety. According to this peer reviewed study there shouldn't be problems within a specific range: Dietary guidelines often deal with 100% fruit juice (FJ) inconsistently because it represents a source of free sugars. However, FJ also provides bioavailable micronutrients and plant bioactives at levels similar to those found in whole fruits. The present review weighs up the evidence from high-quality studies investigating a potential health harm for FJ against evidence from studies which indicate a potential health benefit. The findings reveal that FJ consumption, at moderate intakes consistent with the dietary guidelines for the US and some European countries (75-224 mL daily), does not increase the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease or poor glycaemic control. In contrast, regular consumption of FJ-even up to 500 mL per day in short-to-medium-term studies-appears to confer a health benefit in terms of vascular function and reduced blood pressure. Emerging evidence for cognitive health benefits requires further investigation in human trials. Observational studies report associations between FJ and nutrient adequacy and suggest that FJ consumption is associated with reduced risk of stroke. In conclusion, FJ appears to offer more benefit than risk and there appears to be no justification for discouraging FJ within a balanced diet for children and adults. Hopefully this will allow people to be less a*nal about juicing fruit lol.
People think they can eat whatever they want because they IF? It has to be part of a wellness regimen. Seems like this gentleman ignored other key components of the protocol and as a result had bad results and is now blaming not eating...believing that eating more will increase core body temp tells me all I need to know....food addiction is real and like any other addiction its a reaction to something else going off the rails...Imagine an alcoholic trying to justify why he absolutely has to start drinking again...
I tried intermittent fasting along with starting a plant based diet and it completely destroyed my gut 🤢🤢🤢🤢 I've had weird stomach aches for months. Went to the E. R and they did an ultrasound and there's inflammation there.
The only time I’ve quit coffee is when I went to Mexico and there were no coffee shops around but surprisingly, I didn’t have any side effects and I felt really great all day because before that, I had already cut my dosage. I used to drink 2 huge iced lattes then just one latte, then just a hot cup at home. Saved me lots of money too.
You eat in a 8 hour window then don't eat for 16 hours. And repeat. It can be 16/8, 18/6, 19/5, and 20/4. I've done 19/4 for 9 months now. I'm addicted but I think it's harming me.
No, you're just craving the sugar. I had this craving whenever I consumed sugar without fiber. It was the same for orange juice as it was for sweet. It was not enjoyable, and anectode this, anectode that, the rollercoaster for the blood sugar is just everything but healthy. It gives you exactly those short-lived bursts of energy followed by crashes that are so addictive and detrimental to our health longterm. No, your body doesn't need to consume sugar. Long-chain carbs are a much better fuel, and adding fiber let's us utlize sugar in a similar way. You can have the benefits without the drawbacks however, if you just make sure to always consume orange juice together with a meal or smoothie rich in fiber. Also, variety is key to a healthy diet, and 1l of orange juice provides much more vitamine C and flavanones than the body can use, while leaving it short of other nutrients and unnecessarily overloading it with sugar.
if body loves it and you feel good eat that!! If your body hates kale when you are eating it and you are just pushing because someone told you do not eat it...
8 days ago started tapering, mixing Teeccino in with decaf to dilute my coffee and today I had a couple sips of straight coffee, wow I couldn't believe how awful it made me feel
Thank you for sharing your story I had the same problems as you (and I'm also Dutch :p). My body was already easily stressed because of subclinical hypothyroidism, but luckily I found Ray Peat’s work. I started and tried fasting at 25, but it always felt bad (I tried to get rid of brain fog and it worked, but because of stress hormones). As my last resort, I tried low-carb to fix my health issues and it was absolutely horrible. I will never forget the extreme stress (I only did it for 5 months). Then I found Ray Peat on Twitter from ex keto/carnivore/low carbers talking about how Ray’s work saved them and I tried it and finally started slowly healing from the age of 27 (I'm now 29).
Was searching for Ray Peat info and found you. I love orange juice but was always scared of the concentrate juices but I will give it a try (much cheaper).
About six weeks in. I'm finding I get up way earlier and without an alarm. Sleeping around 6 hours instead of 8 ish. I still feel the need for a lunch time power nap but that's probably a healthy thing.
you do look very healthy! stumbled upon your video when i wanted to research why i was craving orange juice so much lately. guess i should give in to my urges!
I've never been able to do IF. I have some blood sugar issues and if I don't eat for too long, I get weak and shaky. Granted, I'm thin already, so I need regular fuel as there's nothing to feed off of.
Orange juice only contains very moderate amounts of potassium and calcium. There are better ways to get them without overloading the body with sugars. 200 ml of orange juice every day, or even better 200 g of whole citrus fruits, will be enough to support you with all the flavanones and vitamine C that you need (and for the latter there are even are alternatives).
