i work on some very nice hotrods, some in the $200-300k range. I would not ever own one. If you a guy that like car shows and watching anal retentive people talk about the color of a hose clamp then you are not somebody i want to spend time with.I like this car alot.
When I had my 2006 Vette, someone would everyone once and awhile take a can of coke and dump it on top of my car. I lived in apts. Never caught the guy/kid. Also I had someone put out a cigarette on my Ford with a white top. Burned a hole through it. It can all be fixed, but it gets old that people don't care.
@nicholasjackson3344 ha I try to be everyone's friends but at a point t people like that need to pay but people like that probly have nothing to loose which the only thing they understand is a beating..moral of story apartment living only supports the weak mostly .
When I say I have two girls, one is the wife. lol. She is the culprit. My daughter knows better. I told her about it, but sometimes she is in her own world half the time.
You’re a better man than me. I don’t think I would’ve let that slide especially when she knows how many hours you spend in 100+ degree garage working on your car.
I’d agree most girls. Some are hardcore about cars, but few. I have 3 daughters and one is very intocara. More so than my two boys I’m with you on not high dollar paint job. With mine I want to drive it without worrying about rocks door dings, etx
I would tell the girls. It’s about respect. When you treat my stuff like this your not showing respect. Then Show the damage. I would also say are you going to fix it? When it takes her hours. Then you say now you know why guys try to take care of their cars. Cause the time invested in it. Just like you like to take care of your nails and yourself. My daughter is 9 I’ve already taught her. Try to take care of what you have. I had a neighbor growing up everything he had was like it was just bought. Law mower, tools, cars. This was one thing I tried to emulate. Even if it was 30 years old it looked new. I know I can’t do that with everything not financially in that place and equipment for work has to get used.
You know those woofers aren’t coaxial right? That’s a component system, having a coaxial speaker in a component system would defeat the whole purpose of the system. That’s not a tweeter in the center of the cone on the woofer.
Hello I have built fiberglass boats for a living for many years in Maine(Lobster boats) one trick that will help is to put a layer of reasin down on the tape frist before you put your fiberglass up. It helps hold the glass in place.
Usually that works well, I tried to do it that way at first, but it just wasn't working this time for me for some reason. I think it was cause it over 100 degrees here. lol.
I'm just glade I am able to work on the car. Haha. I try my best, I hope this inspires people to try to work on their cars. We need more people to work with their hands.
I own a 1973 stingray and I have been all thew my doors new door locks, new door handles. The one thing in your video i noticed was you have the rod that comes down from your outside door lock is in backwards. Try unclipping it and putting it in from the front side,it is a lot harder to put the clip back on. The way you have it in there causes it to bind up.
You’re so correct about screws you will find. I found a sheet rock screw holding down the center shift console. Adjustments had to be applied. Looking good I tell ya!
I've been in my 1969 Corvette doors (they have power windows) multiple times. One thing I discovered was that it's a lot easier working on the locking mechanism/door handle by reaching my arm up through the power window motor access hole. I'm nearly 6'-2" tall so my arms are not that long. However, I was able to install all the clips and the two door handle nuts just be reaching up through the hole. Of course, the work can be done coming in through the side the way you were doing but for me, it was more difficult, not to mention the pivot piece that opens the door was cutting the back of my hand. Anyway, you have an incredibly beautiful car and I enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing. My car is a highly optioned big block with the original drive train, so I'm very limited on doing any resto mod work. However, I can still appreciate the creativity and passion people have in modifying their vintage cars.
I own a 1973 stingray, green with the Baldwin Motion white stripe. I have been all threw the doors fixing my power windows, new locks, new handles. The one thing I noticed in your video was the rod that comes down from the door lock is on the wrong side I know it is easier the way you have it to put the clip that holes it in place. But the way you have it causes it to bind up. As you look inside the door just turn that rod around and come in from the front side and the put the clip on the back side. I know it sucks getting the clip on.
@@darrencolbeth5119 Huh, very interesting. I took it off that way, and just put it back on the way I found it. Good to know. I will have to change it around.
