Think of it like this; Simple is the audio the Vanquish uses, Normal the Equinox uses and Rich which is new for the Manticore. Each has different audio depth and information, Simple is a flat sound with little info other than beep beep. Normal audio gives good strong audio responses that gives users the ability to hear falsing, mixed tones from multiple targets and depth differences (fainter responses at depth). Rich takes all this even further with more info, but does quieten done the audio overall, not for everyone.
Thanks for the video Gordon... Debating switching from my 800, but at the moment the complexity of the Manticore seems a bit daunting, so your videos are very helpful...
What are the trade offs with those settings? I mean, does all the extra depth and disc of the MC come at a cost of a noisier machine? My previous tector was an xterra 705 and honestly I enjoyed the 705 because it was nice and quiet and coins just sounded so crisp and sharp. I want to get the noise down on the MC but then I wonder if I’m reducing its capability to being similar to a 705 by doing so.
The only detector that I have that can do that is my Whites Spectra V3i, hunting in stereo mixed mode. I am able to hear bad targets(iron) in one ear and good targets in another ear. I am also able to set the tone for iron from as low as 0-255. But setting it higher than 0 is recommended, probably as low as setting it at 5 for iron tone is what I do, in which the tone will sound like a clicking sounding tone. I used to run mine like this before they were all stolen. I did get another V3i but haven't set it up the same yet. I do have a manticore in my cart and I am considering buying it.
The Manticore has so many tweaking settings. Thanks for clarifying how you've found the best for your type ground. It would be a bit more helpful if you could show the editing steps more clearly in menu settings like the two region all tones setup.
Good morning I am just about to install the Truma 4e combi, but Im not sure about the small connection on the control panel. The red + and red/black - what is the location I connect to on the boiler or are these connections only for power to the control panel?
Steel is a carbon alloy of iron yes so this may sound stupid but so what type of Vdi would we be looking at steel over iron if we all hate getting that iron so much, although it is a major factor in detecting an old sites , what I am trying to say if we all blanked the iron out then how did others find swords and such before us or were they just lucky and thought it was a bit of scrap.
It turns out to be a very sad situation. Manticore points to the treasure that it is black metal, you pass by, and it turns out that you passed by the treasure. It would be very interesting to hear your expert opinion
I remember this, yes some detectorist found a sovereign the area was swamped, lots were found (and disappeared) and then the organisers moved in for the final kill. Great stuff, well done to those organisers on their profit.
Wouldn't the hydrogen rise to the top of the camper. I would check your gas,but if it stops when you change the batteries it must be a very sensitive sensor
Hi Graham followed your videos since owning my 8oo some 5 years ago, would you answer a simple question for me please, as an iron check on the Nox 800 you could switch to 5 or 10 Kilohertz, does this method still apply with the Manticore ? or has the ferrous limits now improved and this of method changing frequencies no longer required ? be interested in your reply, Thx again keep the Videos coming don't trust other youtubers.
The new ferrous limits compare targets to single frequency, much like iron bias F2 does on the Equinox 800… but still try it, it could make a tricky iron target less tricky.
Hi Gordon , I have bought my Manticore some protective stem covers , and have put the wire in the sleeve running up the back of the stem , this looks a lot tidier. Do you know if this will make a difference not wrapped arround the stem , Thanks Tony
hi there. im located in Florida's east coast. i only do salt water beach and i have owned the manticore since january. Just to rectify something you said. the coil is a piece of trash that breaks easily. I have replaced the coil once and i have to replaced again due to uncontrollable noise. Not EMI, not ground conditions but coil instability and bad built quality.
