I don't know why companies do that when they find something that's good and it works they get rid of it and discontinue it kind of like Ford with the focus ST soon as they got all the kinks worked out they stopped making them kind of like the squier Sonic
This review almost convinced me not to buy this bass. I got this bass and had no issues with the G string and had a great setup out of the box. The tone is great for me but is obviously subjective. Plays amazingly easy. Don’t be discouraged by this review. As long as you judge this bass by what it is meant to be and not compare it to a jazz bass or something else. You won’t be disappointed.

I have several high end basses. But, I've always wanted a Precision in seafoam green. My wife got me one of these for my birthday, and i love it! I would have no problems with paying it out!
No, neither one outshines the other. They are just different. The quality of the wood and the construction of the instrument has more impact on an instrument’s tone. Strings and how you play also influence your tone more than which wood the fingerboard uses.
Thanks for the review. In Australia 🇦🇺 they retail for a WHOPPING $450. Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders retail for about $170, almost three times less. The DiMarzio Relentless DP299s also with adjustable pole pieces retail for $219. Way too much, in my view. 🤘🎸🎸🤘
Great video! I feel like there definitely is a slight difference in sound between the two but it's not as pronounced as people make it out to be. I prefer maple for it's looks and also love the fact that it doesn't dry out and require any conditioning!
Squier released a three bands active electronics under the series "active deluxe" fifteen years ago, approximately when they also started the production of classic vibe and vintage modified series Now these affinity active models are two band concentric bass/treble active circuitry Also this affinity 6 string derives from the really eccentric and expensive Steve Bailey jazz bass 6, also released for a few years starting fifteen years ago... go check it out, considering the unusual diagonal string retainer, also deriving directly from the Steve Bailey design Finally the non binding design also calls back to the, again, fifteen years ago 50th anniversary jazz bass model (and all the 34" scale p/j jaguar models deriving from the flagship anniversary jazz bass) I'd probably buy both active jazz 5er and the passive 6er (which I've in fact already ordered from our domestic Fender distributor)
These are absolutely a great value for the money and also a great platform for mods and upgrades if you feel that you need to (they are good enough tho).
