Honey….. nothing needs to be “Christian” in order to be good or worthy. Your upbringing has brainwashed you into thinking that, first, things (a documentary is a thing) can have a religion. Things are inanimate and do not have religion. Like companies. And countries. Second, getting the perspective of PEOPLE who don’t share your religious beliefs can be eye-opening. Much like marrying a man not of your beliefs already has. I challenge you to expand your bubble even further. A faith untested is just a habit. - Me. Many times. I am a cradle Christian who has had her faith challenged. Both by circumstances, believers of other faiths, non-believers, and MOST of all, believers. But they believed DIFFERENTLY than me. I have had to really examine and defend my beliefs because people outside my bubble have forced me to. There are no pits of hell. Eternal damnation lies in the eternal separation from God. Once you truly understand how that happens (violating the commandment to love one another as God has loved us), you can walk confidently with anyone. You don’t need to “guard your heart” because THAT job? God has it.
I have Dave Draveky’s, The Encouragement Bible! It has been a source of wisdom and inspiration for many years!!! I love your signed shirt!!! God Bless!! Kathilyn and Boys 🐾🐾🐾
Jinger, everything looked great on you! My favorite was the jeans & the T-shirt with the ruching sleeves! I'm so happy that you are able to wear whatever you like!
I hope you realize that there are levels and depths and ways of understanding doctrine when you are in the life living it...meaning...i think you took things that he taught and really internalized them to the point where it was damaging. So...just...his method was probably not the best for you, personally. My take is that there wasn't enough WHY in his teachings...like the music...this is no joke when I say...there are ppl describing that Satanic rituals are done and sampled and mixed into the background of certain songs and when we listen to them...we are used to amplify the effects. This isn't a joke and when ppl don't learn about magic and rituals they can't know WHY it was important to not listen to it. Note: I still listen to music because I start to miss it...but they actually had a point, just incomplete context.
Maybe they are selling it because they don’t have a bedroom for Evangeline! Would but it have to be downstairs and it would take the exercise and children’s playroom but eventually she will need a room so maybe that’s why they’re selling
It's so nice to see you have your own space and living your life! The house is great! I would love to see you add some personal touches, art and some color.
@jingerandjeremy how are your parents today? Is relationship whole? I struggle with a relationship w/ my mom bc of past childhood trauma (I was SA’d from 6-17 by her husband) she’s still with him & I will see her as long as he’s not around.
Beautiful! Enjoy every moment! I agree with those who say Jjnger should do things in speaking, or maybe be a spokesperson for real estate? Either what, enjoy it! Ps…please ship me some pomegranates and lemons 😂
I love your house jinger. I can’t believe that your girls that are growing up really fast too and your books shlef look really good too. I can’t believe that you moved to California for good now too.
So glad her could find the truth outside of her experience of what was taught to her as truth of God. So many people grow up in religious communities or homes with a horrible experience of total lies of who God is and end up hating God, but never realizing that the bad that they experience was just Satan biggest tricks, which is using the trauma of religion to damage and totally destroy our true relationship with God. God bless her and may God continue to use her for his kingdom. ✝️🙏🏽❤️
I almost never leave comments…I just wanted to say that I also grew up under an oppressive legalistic Christian doctrine that twisted elements of scriptural truth with one pastor’s need for domination and control. In another video, Jinger used the word “disentanglement” rather than “deconstruction” to describe what she has done with her faith and it is a perfect word. She is a beautiful example of finding freedom in Christ. I have walked this same journey and disentangling the lies and indoctrination from the Truth without losing your faith is difficult but possible. I watched Shiny Happy People and while I was glad that it shed light on the evils of some legalistic religions, I was disappointed that at times, it painted all Christians, all homeschoolers, all large families, etc, in a bad light. There was no message of hope in Christ. Jinger made the right decision.
That twisting of scripture is religion. We believe the Truth of the Scriptures, we are Believers in Christ and its truly so simple. However when man gets in there and brings in his own interpretation, all this extra twisting, all these extra aspects of Christ and how we are to live and worship, thats religion. My Faith is not a religion, I dont have all these extra bells and whistles, we shouldn't. The Way can be hard but it is truly simple. Its not all this extra stuff. Theres not fluff and pomp, we Believe, we have Faith and we are Redeemed through Christ. No man should be selling us what God has not written on our hearts. We learn from Him, He writes His Way on our hearts..we fallow Him. Not all this divisive, extra stuff. These churches, preachers and such are gods unto themselves, they're making themselves their (and your) own god. Some even teach that we are gods. Its wild and it drives people away from the true message. They are either sowing condemnation, your going to hell you sinner, you either fallow or I have every right to hate you, I'm above you... or all is love, there is no sin...we are a just loved and going to Heaven because we all just automatically deserve it. The truth is in ths middle with true Believers, that race of people who become new beings and whole in Christ.
If yall are taking the criticism of bad Christians as a punch down to all Christians…that’s telling and self-snitching. Never once did the documentary say all Christians or Christianity in itself is evil (which I actually do believe, I believe any and all fundamental religion is evil and creates lazy people who depend on an idol in the sky to give them answers) but instead was very gracious towards Christianity and focused on the really bad majority. But if the shoe fits and you feel like they were talking about yall, lace it up and wear it.
I knew some "Gothardite" folks long ago- always thot something was off about them & never knew much about those teachings. Psuedo righteousness & Fake Christian stuff is nothing new... how often does the Bible warn us Do not be deceived? The Church Epistles are choc ful of reproof & correction. Read the Bible for yourself, often. Check out passages your're being taught... save yourself alotta confusion.
She's much wiser than Jill. Jill & her husband can be bought with the right price. They don't care about the agenda behind the documentary as long as they get their 15 seconds & a paycheck. Well I guess Jill learned from her father about the priorities of life.
So if I understand correctly, Jinger, you are saying that you wanted the documentary to still support Christianity and how Gothard's teachings were a perversion of true Christianity and not Christianity itself. Is that what you were feeling?
Thank you for being an ambassador of Christ. Taking the time to show how scriptures were twisted AND still sharing the scriptures and the gospel THE TRUE WAY is an AMAZING feat. Praying God's Richest BLESSINGS on you, your family, and your ministry...and for the Lord to continue to use you for His glory...especially to open up the eyes of those being deceived.
I completely understand the pain these ladies went although my brother did the same thing and Im second from 22, i dont think harboring resentment bodes well. Jill’s shirt says Love more, she would do well to follow it, we dont honor perfect parents, we honor parents! If not for their show, Dugger who??? There arent many prople who get me like my siblings, so we fight but we support each other, and i will protect them and my parents, i wont hatm them, its called Love even at the expense of myself, sorry but not sorry!
There was a lot of misinformation in it as well. First, they called Wheaton college fundamentalist 😅 it’s actual growing quite more liberal for a Christian college. Nothing fundy about Wheaton. And this matters because I live in Wheaton and I’ve spoken with local people who now think Wheaton hates women! And they also used my friend’s picture, without her knowledge, a few times in association with Gothard! She was homeschooled but was never associated with him and does not support him.
All of the Duggar children have J names; so she spells it Jinger. It’s funny how she met her husband who also has a J name, Jeremy. They make a beautiful couple who really take their time to understand each other and to have a healthy relationship with each other and their respective families.
