Kelvin Boerma en Peter de Harder leerden elkaar kennen in Groningen en begonnen video's met elkaar te maken. Het kanaal Cinemates werd geboren en gevuld met filmische sketches. Ze verhuisden naar Amsterdam om hun dromen na te jagen. Hier hadden ze een tijd een eigen studio om eigen filmprojecten op te zetten. Eind 2017 werd de laatste video geüpload op dit kanaal en in 2018 besloten ze elk hun eigen kant op te gaan.
