I have to say, Mac's aren't the fastest computers in the world. And iPhones don't have the best specs, but even with less RAM, CPU and GPU power, iPhones still beat Android phones in performance. It isn't all about the specifications. Android uses a lot of ram, but still doesn't keep apps open in the background. iPhones have less ram, but they keep more apps open in the background. When opening apps the iPhone is faster, just because of iOS. The iPhone does better than the Galaxy S7 in benchmarks too, but I can't explain how, because as you said, the S7 has a better CPU...
