Hello. I grew up there until the age of 13 (in the 80's). My friends and I use to buy candy for a penny a piece at the candy store... we went in that door by the white sign. I vaguely remember it. They had carnivals there in the grassy area, we rode our bikes all over town and played in the park a crossed the street, or around the river. And walked to the elementary school and up the hill to the jr./high school. Lots of memories there. We rented the house at the end of the street from the majors son (toward Cincinnati as you mentioned). Looks nearly the same, although I think it use to be yellow, not sure.
Fantastic! I have just finished watching Jonh Ford's movie Iron Horse and came down here to see these locomotives. In the movie you can see the original engine. Tks!
So has anyone heard anything lately for of 2816 following after that... *ahem* ...accident that she had with hitting a person in Mexico? Just hope The Empress is still able to make it to Mexico City though. ^^'
The same locomotive that was displayed at Steamtown U.S.A in Bellows Falls, Vermont over here in the United States of America and then used in excursion trips in Canada.
Nice video matt. Thanks for the history of the old depot. You should see the new yard the indiana & ohio built in delta ohio. They pulled some old tracks from the former norfolk & western and dt&i, which was a shared railyard many years ago approximately about 40yrs ago.
@@DavidsIntro yes, comparing that to terrible SD40s its a hell of an upgrade. plus, why do u think they got dash 9s instead of just more EMDs cuz they can actually get the job done without stalling or hogging shops
Nice video! It's great to see those locations again. I noticed that the stone train did not appear to blow the horn at the two crossings. Does Loveland have a no-horn ordinance in place?
