We're doing bju bible this year but I've been looking at CLE for Bible in the future. It seems that you really like CLE. Do you know anything about bju in comparison... would you recommend CLE for Bible for the younger years?
We are doing a coop this year! I didn’t mention it bc I don’t know what classes the kids will be taking yet. But it’s more of a fun coop, with electives rather than the academic classes we took last year.
Yes! I love CLE math but the lessons are so long. It takes us forever to get through the books. Do you guys finish a whole grade level in one school year?
We love CLE math. I have my 1st, 3rd 6th and 7th using it .Last year I took a chance with their Algebra 1 after my girls told me they didn’t like TT. They thrived with it! I can’t wait until they release Geometry.
I am also greatly simplifying our homeschool year this year. I have my top priorities and then I have those things that if we get to them, great and if we don't I will still count the year as successful because I believe I'm doing exactly what the Lord led me to do.

I absolutely agree that using all CLE (especially with active little boys) is torture 😂. My son is finishing up TGTB Level 3 in the next few weeks and will then move to Level 4. We both really enjoyed Level 3.
We LOVE TGATB!!! I have only used their old Level 3 LA for 2 kids, but I've got 2 kids left below 3rd grade who will use the new level when they get there.
Thank you for sharing your son's 3rd grade curriculum! Do you have an opinion about CLE science and social studies? Most homeschool families seem to use other curriculum for these subjects, so I've not heard them discussed on RU-vid.
Make bible memory cards with pokemon character or different unique trucks like digger, bobcats on the back. Then he can think. Digger- proverbs 18-10 the name if the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run to it and are safe. Even saying things like we run to God like the digger runs to the dirt pile😂 He needs mental visuals that HE cares about to help his memory. Hes not lazy but bored with verses And thats ok. You are doing great❤
I love it! I have a third grader this year as well. She’s using CLE level 3 math, language arts, and reading. For Bible she has a child’s Bible reading plan. For theology, history, literature, and science she is using Sonlight.
My grandson did homeschool aka public school not brick n mortar with SCCA online school for four years, we had teachers teach on screen and I was the learning coach. It was a struggle at first but then everything clicked and he did summer school his last semester n graduated early . You could work ahead on lessons but some teachers still wanted you to attend live lessons. I will say I would not ever want to be a learning coach. I graduated in the 80’s n didn’t have all the different math n that was the hardest thing ever.
You turned me on to Christian light for reading!! It taught my kids how to read. I was DESPERATE and tried Abeka.. good and beautiful.. Calvert.. finally saw your video and ordered it mid year. My son was reading in 3 months and my daughter did it last year!
When I was in 8th grade, back in the late ‘70’s, we did book studies for LA the whole school year. I’ve never forgotten that class, it was my favorite of all time. I also had a high school class like that, I believe it was 10th grade, I loved that one as well. They did integrate some grammar here and there.
I am interested in the new science by CLE. I never used their science or history because it seemed a bit dry with no color pictures etc. But the one grade they added looks amazing! I love their math and language, and we are using it for the third year. It's very solid.
You know what I love about CLE, besides the quality of the content? You can purchase individual light units!!! This is so important to me because I have such a small budget and four kids to purchase for. I cannot afford to purchase the full courses all at once. It makes me breathe a sigh of relief. Ahhh 😅

At the moment…I am not working outside the home. God has provided in some ways that I’m able to do at home…it’s still a possibility, but for now we might be ok 😊
We LOVE CLE! But, also hit a wall with it with one of my kids and TGATB is what we got for him to try too since the scope and sequences are similar. Will you be doing flip throughs of the science's? I am super interested in those too!
