Your content is so organic, when your channels blows up and you start getting epic sponsors please dont change your style. Watching you catch 20 pounders on relativey budget tackle is awesome. I have a bunch of saltigas that havent done 1/10 the fish that the tr 200-G reel of yours has seen
thanks bro that means a lot. weather the channel blows up or not i'll just keep doing what i do. I've never liked the promotion of top shelf products buy sponsored fisherman, it just seems so unobtainable to your average fisho. mid range will always do good for me. that tr 200-g has seen some things mate, bought it second hand 4 years ago for 50$ and somehow its still going. appreciate your comments brother
@@NomadicKayakFishing lol watching another episode apparently it's iced coffee. I thought it was some sort of attractant. The lad loves his ice coffee it's in every ep!
LMAO your the second person who thought it was burley in a bottle. at this point i might start squirting it in my softies for good luck lol. all jokes aside i don't like eating on the kayak so i just run an IV drip of caffeine instead
<Nodding head> The fishes are not feeding out from my front door This week . I'm further past TK . I'll keep my eye out for you if you come You can stay as long as you want at mine.
Also, if you want to make some friends around there, if you are not eating the head and frame, call into a few houses around the area and offer them to the locals. They love them.
thanks mate. I'm long gone from that area now but i'd love to got back for some terakihi one day... please don't comment any marks though, or everyone will steal your spot lol
yea have done so in the past, always some friendly locals about who are keen on a feed of fish heads. i actually ate the wings of this fish in a soup and filleted the meat out of the cheeks for a feed.
do you fasten your fishing rods now?😂😂😂 It's good that you showed the location. It's interesting to know where this is happening. last fishing rod how much lb?
yea currently prototyping some quick release rod leashes that i can unclip from the rod will I'm casting to avoid tangles. not sure what you mean about the rod? hope you enjoyed the vid
I find they last longer when bleed out… it’s a small difference but if your hanging you fish whole they can last upwards of a week when bleed correctly and iki.
I used to be of the same opinion. But clear meat doesn't mean perfect meat... removing the blood tends to give the protein a more mild and almost sweeter flavour. It also lasts much longer in the fridge, this fish was still fresh 6days later👍
Mate for some stupid reason the YT algorithm hasn't recommended you until a day ago. I've binge watched loads of your content since and admire your knowledge, skills and stones getting out wide in the yak. Legend mate looking forward to upcoming vids with notis on. Mad respect bro
Hey ya Bro 😎 . I’m new to your channel here but you are living the dream . Would you be happy letting us know where you are fishing please 🙏 ?.. I’ve just about saved up enough to purchase a kayak myself so would be keen to know some of your spots . Cheers 🍻 , Woody NZ 🇳🇿 .
Hey bro, thanks. Sorry but it's not fair to the locals to tell people about their spots. Finding your own spots is all part of the game, spend some time looking a charts and exploring the ocean and soon you'll have your own secret spots👍
@@NomadicKayakFishing Fair enough Bro 😎 . Keep up the good content & I will just have to try to suss out where you are fishing in your next videos . Cheers 🍻 , Woody NZ 🇳🇿 .
Gutted mate.... that always sucks when they sleigh ride you like that in shallow water..... that kohy got absolutely smoked on the surface!! Fantastic you got the eat on video. Love the keepsake idea... i have all my broken/bent hooks from big fish lost also.
@@NomadicKayakFishing one thing I have tried in the shallows is to winch wind when getting dragged in theory your just pulling the kayak closer to the fish but if you can get the length of leader shorter than the rocks they can’t bust you off… theory that is
Yea the theory is definitely their... but I was winching as fast as I could and it still wasn't enough🤣 I'm wondering if I should of just locked the drag and let him tow me without pulling back. Maybe then they wouldn't get so angry and might just swim to deeper water... but it's just a pipe dream until I hook the next one...
@@NomadicKayakFishing Quite unbearably hot in the summer for 4 months but the rest of the year is awesome. You just fish early hours and I do pottery in the afternoon
@@NomadicKayakFishing stability with the stealth has never been a issue & fishing for spanish mackerel longtail tuna large (80+cm) snapper & kingfish are about just normally chasing something else lol spoilt for choice...but i have no doubt it could handle it if you ever get the chance to try one i would highly recommend it & nothing beats the peace of mind that my rods gear & catch are well secured below deck if something goes amiss when landing or launching in the surf zone. all the best mate
@@NomadicKayakFishing goodthing about longtail is they are cleaner fighters than kingies kingies will burry you in the closest bit of structure usually quickly but longtail tend to be about speed & stamina hope you get the chance to experience them 1 day bro ...snapper usually fight dirtier than LT ;)
Ahh kingfish.... they do like to test us..... yet we keep going back again and again.... hahah. Great vid Matt. Shark footage was awesome edge of the seat! bring on the next one.
its the challenge that keeps us coming back! cheers Andy, your live bait is gonna get smashed one of these days, the winter kings sure can be tricky to find
Been binging your videos man ever since I got into fishing start of this year, gonna hopefully get a kayak setup similiar to yours soon! Keep up the vids skux
damn! unlucky uce, why is it that the softbait rod gets taxed aye, first time fish snapped it, now this one knocks it off. Those were some really nice fish tho.
Yeah nice one bro bugger about your rod though…I remember reaching back to put my rod in the rod holder on my yak and missed altogether…bye bye Saltiga 😂. I leash everything now
another educational, entertaining video of high level and quality. Thank you. This afternoon I bought the same fishing rod as you lost. If you live in Aucland or not far away, stop by and I’ll give it to you.
