I liked Rivals 1 a lot, but it came at a time, where i lost interest in Platform Fighters, mainly because of sucking lol But rivals 2 looks like its a lot of fun, might pick it up if it ever comes out on console
You also forgot the original creator of offbrand Brandon aka Atrioc! He came up with the name and what the company would do, but because of his controversy a while ago he left the company in the other 3's hands while he singlehandedly dealt with the entire deepfakes scandal that was going on all around the internet, since he was a reason is came to a bigger light. So hyped for rivals 2!
I decided to stick with the currently active founders (unless he came back and I didn't know?), but yeah! I've followed all that, the situation sucks but his work to remedy and take down the sites has been great

4:09 THIS IS REALLY AN UNDERRATED ISSUE! Last time i checked console doesnt have shovel knight and the last DLC was I think sylvanos ? maybe Elianna (i was originally an xbox player till it came out on switch)
IF they are all HAVE the same kind of point of view over games, that's awesome. IF they have very different point of view, everybody having the same weight is totally stupid.
I'm ngl, this is so exciting for me. I'm debating opening back up my gaming channel to start making content for this game too, because man this news is so exciting on top of all the other amazing stuff we've seen out of Rivals 2.
This video made me wishlist Rivals 2 on Steam. I've never played the original, it always seemed just a tiiiiny bit too low budget for my taste. My buds and I all play smash a decent amount but none of us have played Rivals. I really respect what Ludwig is doing here but with the publishing arm and converting the company to a worker co-op. I really want to support that effort as well as the devs at Aether. Really excited to check out more.

Another major pitfall in seeking outside publishers is that the the publishing sphere is a cesspool of private equity. Learning that Aether Studios got a publisher was kinda scary at first, but hearing that the publisher is a co-op with the pedigree of Off-Brand actually has me pretty excited.
Great video!! I played a lot of Rivals but ultimately never got too invested. Rivals 2 looks so much more up my alley, I hope it blows up even bigger than the first one and we can see all kinds of cool tournaments and invitationals
Holy shit this is so exciting. I really hope they meet their potential as a publisher to Rivals 2. I was so excited for the game prior to this news but this is huge. LET'S GOOOOO
to note is that a lot of publishers are asking ridiculous amounts of money for games that are practically done already, like over 60% amounts. which is why so many devs struggle to find a publisher. personally really hyped for offbrand and bigmode to knock some sense into publishers
