Why do I shank my pitch shots? If I tuck my elbows I feel to be closer to the ball and then I shank it...... Why do I shank it even though I stand tall with weight even etc.
Dan, when you release, it almost means braking with the arms/shoulders and letting the wrist break and come around? Right? I have trouble with trying to move the grip into the belt buckle or hip.
I played a couple of links courses back at the start of may and this shot with my 7w was insanely consistent. Literally anywhere where you don't have to get it over anything
absolutely fantastic video I am a 20 handicapper and I drop many shots unnecessarily around the green. I will use this video and try and embedded the thinking behind it. awesome 👌 👏 👍🏽
I just started Playing golf about 18months ago started on a 36hc since watching your chipping, and pitching videos, also the bunker videos Ive dropped in 6 months from a 29 to 19 so thank you so much.
I will say after just a few days, even though I am not getting the lower ball flight, my shots are more consistent. I took a video to send in for advice, and holy cow am I fat!
I changed recently to using a 9 iron for shots from 80 yards and in. It works great if you have opening in front of green. I used to try to hit wedges and was hitting alot of shots short.
Any chance you could show us some long game stuff ? I know you’re all about short but would be good to see what tips you have about the long game. 👍🏌🏼♂️
I love these videos but one thing Dan that you consistently leave out of every one of these is ball position. Very critical piece of information that is needed for us to learn and practice better. Thanks for sharing.
I got your book, found you on Rick Shiels channel. Love this lesson. First day of practice on release one and my shots are going really high. Think I need to tuck my left arm and keep the club below my hands: Looking forward to practice tomorrow. Yes I am using my 54…. Took 58 out of the bag.
I inferred the book suggested using a gap wedge, which I presume to be your 52. But here you default to the 56 tho make mention of the 52 option. I was about to start practicing 52, whereas I’d used 56 up to 50 yards out. Now kinda confused.🤔
What’s your opinion of using a lower loft club , say a 7-8-9 . Going for a bump and run shot at it . I’ve found that if you’re chipping isn’t that accurate it’s not a bad option. My pitching seems to be fine from 40-50 yards out to 110 . That area you are in would probably make me pull out a lower loft club because I don’t trust my chipping the way you are hitting it .
