Hello! My name is Jen Ross and I’m a Scottish Primary teacher✏️ This is my channel where I chat about all things teaching, travelling, beauty and lifestyle💕
I have just finished my first lesson as esl teacher, I was nervous to begin with but afterwards I felt I had missed the opportunity to include more detailed information....oops.. I hope this anxiety fades away...
I need to find a suitable application to teach foreign languages online or on RU-vid like in the following video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y3i88oVk_1o.htmlsi=sbUhxGzQ3IyS2N9L. Do you know which app and which iPad or laptop are used in this video? I see that as soon as the teacher finishes underlining to attract students' focus and attention on the words being taught, the underline disappears. This way the lesson page is not cluttered with too many underlines.
Hi, loved how informative this vid was!! Thank you. I just wanted to ask about the actual placement like the routine/ and how many times do you plan a lesson and carry it out, or like what a day in placement would look like.
Just got mine in the mail today. ru-vid.comUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
Thanks for the video. I worked as a teaching assistant and got placement in the same school where I am going to meet other TA s to whom I worked. Already some of them throwing jealous spit on me just because I am an Indian.Don't know how to survive .
Hi! I'm Australian and hoping to teach in Scotland one day. Can I ask, how do I access the curriculum itself? For example, at 4:28 in your video you showed a screenshot of the Literacy and English outcomes with interactive drop-down boxes. I am unable to locate this online. Perhaps I'm not searching in the right place. Can you please assist me? xx
I’m SO pleased I came across your vlogs! Pretty late to the show 😂 but please make more! Training to become a primary school teacher and your vlogs are brilliant 🫶🏼
So because i was an optician for 37 years I of course thing the most essential thing you got was you new glasses. Being a teacher should always include a pair of glasses as being most essential. Our optical store was close to several elementary schools and one high school. So many of my patients were teachers. It seems like the teachers are getting younger and younger and more and more attractive every year. And more and more of them or needing glasses. Several told me as I was fitting them with their glasses that their eyesight was perfect until they started studying to become a teacher and suddenly they needed glasses. I very well remember one teacher. she came in every year about a month before the start of the school year for an eye exam and she seemed disappointed when she was prescribed glasses. About the forth year she came of he exam room with a big smile because she finally needed glasses. I helped her choose her frame for her glasses and did the necessary measurements for her lenses. She was very slightly shortsighted, or as we call it here in the U.S. nearsighted. I told her glasses would be ready in a few days and I would call her when they were ready for her. They were ready in three days and I called to tell her they were ready for her. I could tell by her voice she was excited. She came in within the hour and I gently put them on her so I could tell how much adjusting they would need. The temples were a bit too long and the adjustable nose pads seemed to fit her perfectly. So after a few adjustments of the earpieces her glasses seemed to fit her perfectly. I told her that it was up to her as to when she felt she needed her glasses but I did suggest that she should probably wear them when driving even though I was sure she could have passed the vision test to drive without glasses. But since she had glasses why not wear them? I mentioned wearing them at the theater and few other things and she just asked if it was okay if she just wanted to wear them all the time? I told her that was totally up to her and totally okay to do. She left the store wearing her glasses with a big smile. Around Christmas time she came in with a friend that was getting an eye exam. While her friend was getting her eyes examined I had asked her how she was liking her glasses since she was wearing them? She said she really liked them. I asked her if they were still nice and comfortable to wear and she said they were and that she hardly feels them on her. Her friend came out and she was needing glasses. So I decided to let her try on frames with the help of her friend. Anyway I wasn't able to tell by looking at your glasses if your glasses are for seeing things at a distance or for close up or if might only have an astigmatism prescription. Unless your glasses are for seeing close up you really should have your sunglasses in your prescription as well.
How did you find the crowds around July 4th and on the actual day? I’m going out 3rd-17th July and thinking it’s going to be realllllly busy but this doesn’t look too bad on your vid. Any tips around this time?
9-3? Wow, who goes in at 9? Even the high schools around here, which have the latest start start no later than 8:30. My contracted hours (I am elementary SPED) are 7:30am-4:05 pm. Kids are dismissed at 3:40, are expected to arrive by 8:05. My ACTUAL hours go until about 5:45 daily not including days we have faculty meetings and not including lesson planning and grading, IEP writing on weekends.
