I really enjoy teaching spelling but something I often notice is that often pupils don’t enjoy doing spelling. Why is this? Possibly because they associate spelling with copying out their words to memorise them. In today’s video I’m going to show you the spelling strategies that I teach my classes and my favourite active spelling activities! There are so many different ways to teach spelling and I’m always trying to find new ways that motivate my learners. I want to make spelling an enjoyable process, taking into account lots of different learning styles. There’s no doubt that some children learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process by making, creating and doing.
