Good review. Hey, how has it held up? Animal welfare wise, is there any knowledge as to how the geese that were plucked were thriving before and during offering up their down? Did you get the standard or the long version? I am 6'3" 191cm tall so when you said there are some inches to spare, it made me wonder if this size of the quilt would suffice? Lastly, do you know whether the quilt will be able to accommodate a wide rectangular airpad with a width of 65cm? Kind regards.
I have the standard version, with has held up fine. I’ve been told (but cannot confirm) that the down is not live plucked as it’s a byproduct of the meat industry
@@RichardCheng ok awesome. Good they weren't suffering during the taking. I'm getting the length version because it wouldn't be nice if the quilt is too short. So do you think a wide rectangular pad is able to go inside due to the tapered lower part of the quilt?
@@RichardCheng OK, Thanks for the fast reply. I'm still in two minds as to which one to get but if they had the same amount of condensation then probably would go straight for the single skin pro and buy a sponge cloth.
Hey Richard, do you still have issues with cold feet in this quilt? Would you prefer to get a closed footbox modification if you could do it again or do you prefer the ability to open it? I'm deciding between the two
thank youuu, really helpful, I have to say out of the 6 videos I have watched reviewing this tent, yours is the best, because you share information based on what you have really tried with the tent, not just reading the parameters
@@RichardCheng Yeah, I'm actually using it with a different ball head myself. What I wanted to say was that the part you describe as a knob for 360° pano at ca. 2:12, is also used for releasing the camera. It's a proprietary quick release system. :)
Hi Richard. Great review, thank you. Could you please tell me if there are loops or a snap button with loops at the foot end of the quilt? So if I wanted to tie a bungee cord to each side of the foot, and loop it around behind a sleeping pad (not use it zipped up). Or is there only the zipper and then the cinch cord? Thanks.
@@RichardCheng PS: I think you chose the best colour combination. Yellow and green. Do you ever find the 233 is too warm for UK conditions? Or you're happy you chose that instead of the 200?
Hi and greetings from Argentina. Great review, thanks a lot. My only concern is that I'm 6'3" and I am not quite sure if I would fit alright, what do you think? Thanks for your time, I really appreciatted.
@@RichardChengThanks a lot for your time, Richard. I am also seaching for a budget light backpack in the range of 50-60 l. You have a few videos about backpacks, but if I'm not mistaken there are in the 40 l area. So, any advice would be very much appreciated!
Hi Richard, do you have any idea for a good sleeping pad? I was hoping to find something that goes into the direction of the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite but is cheaper - of cause :)
There aren’t many air mats that are significantly cheaper for a similar warmth rating. I have an Exped Synmat that I bought on sale which is comparable!
@@RichardCheng Thank you! At first glance that looks quite similar to the Nemo Tensor - which was my 1st choice until now. I'll have a deeper look tomorrow, maybe i find some discount for either of them.
Hi Richard. Very much enjoyed your review of the 3F Lanshan 1 Pro. Do you know of any Chinese knock offs that use cuban fiber to save weight. Thanks, Bigbee
Thank you for the great review. Could you tell me how small it is while packed? I found some very different packing sizes, one resulted in a volume of 2l, the other 6l. I found similar tents having a volume of 2,5l so around that would be great
@@RichardCheng I see! I lived in Scotland for 5 years many years ago and did many hikes including some long walks and about 30 Munros. I absolutely loved this special country but had to leave. Now I have settled in the Vancouver area of BC, Canada but still watches many landscape and hiking videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Your door setup is genius. I had the older lanshan and the condensation was a real issue. I have just bought but not used the pro yet. I will be doing that door trick. Thank you.
Saw that you used it in the Peruvian Andes. Is the 1 pro 4 season? Suitable for cold, windy or even snowy conditions, like say, trekking in Nepal? Cheers.
Amazing video! I plan to do this one and the Salkantay next month. Is there anything I should know about rules/regulations for wild camping? Will I be free to camp where ever I choose?
Hi Travis, on this trek there are dedicated campsites which are nice and flat, with good views. I’m not 100% sure about the regulations for wild camping, especially for the Salkantay trek which Liam and I did not do
