Hi, I'm Nina, and welcome to my channel for all things cosplay! From convention vlogs, cosplay advice, project work logs, tutorials & DIY videos, photoshoots & behind-the-scenes, and CMVs, there's something here for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're a beginner or a veteran cosplayer, let's celebrate the fun of this hobby together!
I've been cosplaying since 2007, and I'd like to think I've learned a thing or two after these past nine years! I do my best to provide tips and advice for young cosplayers as they begin their journey into this crazy world of dress-up - which can be more than a bit overwhelming to newcomers. I hope to give beginner cosplayers a helping hand and make them feel welcome in our community. I believe that anyone can cosplay, and more than anything else, cosplay is supposed to be fun!
Feel free to stay awhile - and remember: Happy Cosplay!
I had no time to fix trousers that were not going well (made before but different style) thankfully had enough time to buy a pair online thats perfect I can always make them properly another time
I have a lovely turquoise singer machine but… i just cannot figure out how to use it for the love of god. It’s been sitting on my desk for YEARS and I am just too stupid to make it work. I watched many tutorials and the thread still somehow manages to get tangled inside. I hate being unable to use it…
For costumes made with layers like ball gowns, it is best to make a garment bag specifically for them and use strong wooden hangers for when you are needing to carry it.
It’s funny anytime I seriously think, about doing cosplay, I wonder how you are doing. You will always have a place in my heart and thoughts. Hope you are living the life that makes you happy.❤
Anyone else come to watch this ConVlog “trailers” years later? To this day I’m still sad she unlisted all of her con vlogs, they were some of my absolute favorite videos to watch!
Some cool ideas, in the early 80's, I buried a denim jacket, left it for a week (watered it twice) and then dug it up with a fork, then left it out in the rain for 2 days, then dragged it behind the car for a mile. Result, 1 weathered & battered jacket
i needed this a lot. ive been interested in cosplaying for years and recently went to my first con (as venti from genshin, it was really fun :) ), but didn't realize how much people would be asking for pictures... and i didnt realize how bad i was at getting a confident pose. thank you so much. i have another con coming up and im doing a vocaloid group cosplay with my friends, and i want to give all the people there the hatsune miku they want to see rather than some nervous, unphotogenic teen in a big pigtail wig
Used this video when I started cosplaying nearly 10 years ago. Really helped me as someone who never had used makeup before and then only wore makeup for conventions afterwards.
Rule of thumb: if you can upon starting a costume, estimate twice the time you think it will take to make it to allow for mistakes. My brain is very detail orientated, so I have learned when making things to let go when I reach the "con ready" point. My initial costume runs always lead to tweeks, so I have learned to let go of things being absolutely perfect the first go. It has save much time and heartache.
To be fair, I start getting into making one because mass produced costumes doesn't fit me and commissioning is good once in a while but the funds for both is not always there. Judging someone about whether they buy or make their own costume aside from competition is something I cannot fathom
This video was so helpful. Thank you! I want to dye these nylon (they're 80% nylon, 20% spandex) compression stockings (they're pure white) to red and apparently acid dye is the best to use, but I am a bit intimidated by it. It says all-purpose dye can work too, but it won't be as vibrant, right? What would you suggest?
i’m making a christmas themed tifa cosplay it’s my first time ever sewing and i decided to use stretchy red velvet fabric I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO. but it all worked out and it turned it very nice
One stocking stuffers I agree with is the books. I have gotten so many books for historical costume, fashion, patternmaking, sewing, and everything related to sewing including couture dressmaking and tailoring books. They're amazing as reference and I just give my borrowed books to my mom who goes to a print shop to have them all cloned for me and my personal needs. Don't clone books for selling! That's the illegal part! If you clone or copy a book for personal use, it's fine. It also works great because I'm a broke bitch who cosplays and doesn't wanna spend a ton of money on books.
