One of the best yet least appreciated songs in their oeuvre . I’ve heard the background used as a base. Stephen Merrit has ‘a cactus where your heart should be’ . More. But this is nice ...
Thank you Pet Shop Boys. You sent me here. This is very beautiful and melancholic version. I love this too. I love Pet Shop Boys 'I want a dog' on Introspective album.
This has a soft, carrying power. Lots of their songs have it. You could be drifting upstream in the simplest boat, the water beneath you wide and deep and clear: a muscle.
Well, PSB official sent me here! Being their fan it's kind of difficult to judge this objectively as PSB themselves are great masters like no other of covering other peoples' creations. I like the synths in the background, Dirk's voice has a good quality, very much like Brett Anderson with slight german accent!:) In overall, I found out during all those decades that if anyone covers PSB, it's better off different genre as Pet Shop Boys themselves. Of course they're quite cross-genre institution themselves, but if a cover is of slightly different style than what they normally do (heavy synth, orchestral disco), whether it's acoustic, indie, rock or even metal, I'm highly interested to hear it. So, this cover from Dirk gains my sympathy for getting further from the sound of original!;) Cheers!
A bit pathetic when a geriatric hag has smoked one too many and thinks she's done something brilliant, goes out and sings about "shelves"... Been haning out with druggy Berliners too long, me think. The stupidity of this inane autotuned peace of rubbish is infuriating. To think the woman who sings this inane drivel was once a teacher.
Rafi you are so clever to pull all of those things from your life together and so lucky to have such a wonderful wife to help you. Here's hoping for a million views or an Easter Number 1 in Germany! Hope to see you and the hope family soon - all the best, your sort of family(ish) type people in Melton Mowbray x
