can you disconnect the cmo battery from the motherboard?

This video helped me tear apart someone's laptop to replace the nearly decade old thermal paste. This machine is more of an unnecessary pain in the ass to tear apart than it should be but I got it repasted and back together and working again. Kudos!

The keyboard stopped working. At first I had to wait about 10 minutes after turning it on, as if the BIOS battery was completely dead and needed time to charge. This went on for 6 months. Then the keyboard stopped working altogether. What should I do?

Не предупредил, что медный толстый охладитель- радиатор, нужно немного подогреть феном (до 60градусов), а то можно поднимая его, оторвать и процессор (вместе с клеем- термопастой)😊

Поторопился. Или умышленно не сказал, что соединение надо сначала снять блокировку разьёма (поднять на нём планку) и только потом извлекать ленту провода разьёма😊

Any advice on disassemble and after reassemble, the computer not turning on at all, even when plugged in? no orange light, no charge, nothing. Power adapter and battery are perfectly fine.

Сначала надо было снять медный стержень радиатора, он придавливает вентиляторы.😊 Но радиатор надо подогреть феном, а то можно процессор оторвать☝️

Старую термопасту лучше удалить ватной палочкой с ацетоном. ОСТОРОЖНО, не давить. И НАНЕСТИ НОВУЮ ТЕРМОПАСТУ ЛОПАТКОЙ ПЛАСТИКОВОЙ , разровняв.

Отклеивая радиатор охлаждения, можете повредить микросхемы. Надо погреть радиатор сверху НЕМНОГО феном и тогда поднимать ОСТОРОЖНО.

I'm confused. Why are there replacement keyboard modules for sale online if they're not replaceable on their own? I just bought one without the palm rest assembly. Dell even sells the keyboard modules on their own without the palm rest. Are they truly not replaceable?

Mine stopped working a few days ago, finally I got the correct screwdriver. It is making a ticking noise when I plug in, like 5 ticks a second. It is not a battery problem, it is doing that even with a disconnected battery. I will try a different adapter/charger. Might be a motherboard issue I think. Is there anything I can do to try to repair it if the other charger does not work either? Not worth spending money in pc repair shop on a 10 years old notebook 😔
