Everything from handmade soap, bath products, household cleaners, cooking to growing your own vegetables. I'll show you how I do it, along with things I've never tried before. So pull up a chair, sit your butt down and see how I'm discovering how to get back to basics one DIY at a time.

Thanks again. I’m From Canada. I have the same size container you had for the deodorant. It just made one in the future. I’ll double or triple that make a couple extras for some friends maybe😋🙏🏽❤️🩹🍀🖖🏼🕺🏽
@@mayflylife i waited for the next morning and it turned into agel,ly and grainy.. i used it anways and it was nice.. do i need to dishwasher salt with this recipe.. thank you very much for answering..
Hi Maureen. I usually make small batches and place in a jar and store in the fridge. I will fill a toothpaste tube and have it used up within 10-14 days. I'll go back to my jar in the fridge and refill my toothpaste tube. The refrigerated toothpaste can last for a while, but I won't go longer than a few months. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. I prefer to use dry rice and then rinse with water later and leave to air dry. If your mortar and pestle instructs you to use wet rice, that’s fine. Not sure why they require wet rice. It come down to preference and this is the most popular method.
Bentonite clay is a great detoxifier and it absorbs like crazy, which means it will soak up the sweat. It shouldn’t cause any issues, but could be a little abrasive for delicate pits.
How does the zinc oxide behave on the skin? I think it would show up white. Please advise. I've used zinc oxide sun screen, and it stays white on my face.
This may be a dumb question, but it this deodorant suitable for men? Strength to minimize odor with moderate to extreme activity? Will it last 12 hours? 24 hours?
It’s not a dumb question at all. Yes, it’s made for men and women. Including a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil to the formula will help reduce the bacteria that causes the odour. It should last the day, but I’ve never tested it in extreme physical activities. The only thing you can do is test it by seeing how much activity it can handle. Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer on that.
Although vitamin E is an excellent ingredient with some similar properties as castor oil, vitamin E doesn’t provide the slip that castor oil does. If you want to experiment, give it a try. If you are happy with the results, great.
Hey Mayfly! I LOVED this video! So nice of you to share your wisdom with us like this. I'm looking for a side hustle I can start at home and thought that natural deodorant could be the perfect thing. I'm worried about selling homemade deodorant online though, is it legal?
I've made several recipes for dish washer soap and none of them did the job. Last night i made your recipe plus i added few drops of dish soap and some white vinegar to the dish washer. The result was absolutely fantastic. Even better than conventional dish washer soap! Specially the glasses were spotless and super shiny (with previous recipes i always had a white coat on the glasses). Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. I really appreciate it. This saves our family lot's of money, plus no harsh chemicals and all natural ingredients are good for our body and the environment. ❤️
Thank you so so so much for your recipe..I made them yesterday and even though I didn’t let them sit to harden completely before trying them ..I’m amazed how well this recipe cleans- makes your dishes feel as if you just pull them out of their package ..this recipe leaves no film like my prior recipe from years ago as well as sparkly squeaky clean..my favorite brand is now $20 so looking to save money but still have a good product -your recipe hands down is the best beating out the stores products too!
Yup, it’s actually from ancient ocean deposits, hence Himalayan sea salt. Salt is used because the bacteria you want can survive the hostile environment much better than the bacteria you don't want. Hope that helps.
Hi i have made about 15 of these for gifts i follow the recipe to the letter and did the mixing when the dry ingredient i ensured the ouls and butter are all melted however the powders are clumping as i pour them and not mixing in properly. I have mixed a lot do you know why this is plz
because her product also clumps. there is no way without chemical additives. you cant simply add dust material to oil and hope to completely dissolve. even zinc ox clumps in microscobic levels. that is why industrial products use aaalllllllll that chems.
Not sure if this will be seen as this video was 5 years ago. Thank you!!! This is an awesome recipe!! I've made it 3 times now, and it only gets better each time!! Now, the real test comes in 3 months when we take my son back to the dentist to have 2 small cavities filled!!
@@paulinemccullen4195 So, we did go back and the dentist did not recheck him. She drilled and filled one cavity, but we rescheduled for the other. We are going to start following some ideas from Weston A Price along with this toothpaste, then reschedule.
