Great compilation, I like how you pause the game during the Sonic 1 Sega logo because how bad the audio is to these Game Gear games and they’re awesome lol!😂😂😂 Also, great to see Sonic Drift 1 and Tails Skypatrol back on the lineup. It’s been forever since the Mega/Gems collection.
You know for a $30 game collection they could have at least had the genesis version of Sonic Spin ball. Also they could have had Knuckles Chaotics and Sonic 3D blast. There’s so much they can still add.

I just notice the extra sharpness and I didn't knew my game was updated until I am tasked to update my Switch version. The blur and stereo Game Gear audio never bothered me and especially since sometimes I play games like the X Legacy Collection with smooth sprites, but is nice to know that Sonic Origins Plus 4K compatibility on Xbox Series X shows now. The pixels are razor sharp.
This is a great mystery. I have beaten Sonic 2 countless times and I really haven't figured it out. Something like pressing repeatedly right and / or up
2:40 Why is the color or Amy’s name not like Tails’ & Knuckles’ ?! The name should match her colors like Knuckles’ is Red for his fur & Green for his socks!
Remember “Amy in Sonic 3 & Knuckles - ROM Hack” ? Well in that game Amy CAN break through Knuckles only rocks to get through Knuckles’ routes. Well in this game Amy’s hammer is weaker and cannot go through Knuckles routes anymore! :(
How do you access the Game Gear games? I have Sonic Origins Plus with the Plus content DLC installed, but I don't see the option in the Missions section. Do you have to do anything specific to unlock them?
You have to buy the DLC pack for 10€ if you have the digital version. It is not available in all regions yet. If you have the physical version you have to redeem the code in the box and let the game update
@@belmont_gr I'm stuck at version 1.004.000 on PS5. For some reason it won't update, it says this is the most recent update when it's obvious it's not. I'm from Spain, maybe the patch hasn't been released here yet?
@@ruvenmb Maybe it is the platform and not the region since I am also in Europe. I can't check on a a PS5 but on PS4 the latest version is definitely 2.00 and has been live since last week...
I like the game gear ports of sonic 1,2 and Chaos i do wish we got the master system version tho. At the end of the day i like this collection finally a legit way to play these games on a modern system instead of using emulators
boggles my mind that the blur filter present in the original release is STILL here: very noticeable on the font. Why do i have a feeling that means the other bugs and issues weren't fixed either... Shame since Amy looks hella fun to play as especially for airborne segments
Not a fan of the audio....but then again, we're talking about the Gamegear...obviously sound to today's standards is abysmal....I cannot be certain of this....but I might try useing a set of headphones (buds whatever) while playing in handheld to see if that feels anybetter....after all the Game Gear was a handheld so....thats that I guess. Really? No additional codes and such? I would have enjoyed an all zeros code in all modes...for the challenge you know. As for the price...yes, scummy to effectively charge people more money overall to buy the game and the DLC separate of eachother opposed to waiting for the 2 combined...but then again, I AM sitting on about $30 worth of gold points on my switch or some such, so...gotta use them on something or they expire.
Ive never played any of the game gear sonic games. Im looking forward to it. People have been hating on them but i grew up with these kinds of graphics.
The sound doesn't bother me much since I never got to play these games, but that won't kill the excitement when I play them(but I'll still turn the volume down😂)
I checked a different video, Super Amy is a thing (basically just the old 50 Emeralds and jump method) so this is Hyper Amy, which also explains why she has a secondary ability which thank you for finding out what it was
@@belmont_gr No problem. It would’ve been inconsistent if Amy was the only one without a normal Super Form (like Tails in Sonic 2 only in this collection for some reason minus the S Monitor)
This collection is just the biggest missed opportunity. I have emulated 8-bit games on my Android tablet and force the game gear games to Master System resolution and they feel fantastic. The "surprise" is a joke; seriously, why just a picture? There are many more ways you could've done like concept art for other Sonic Team games like Nights or Ristar.
Edit: They probably didn't fix any of the issues that Origins suffered from like the Sonic 1 and 2 drop dash locked movement, Sonic 3's various issues everyone knows about, and plenty more.
