Same here, it depends. My strategy is a mix of these influencer platforms PLUS pitching directly. Some platforms will allow you to pitch your rates based on the brand briefs, others have a set rate that you can choose to apply for, or not. I try to have all my social platforms optimized for brands to easily reach me, so I'll get a dash of inbound emails....like a sprinkle, lol.
I have to agree, it does depend. I've been on a few marketplaces for a while now and I'm also with companies that offer free products. Whenever I record anything, I always give it the same respect as I would a paid brand deal.
Thank you for this video. I mainly take the commission only collaborations on TikTok but I have worked with a few larger brands. I let one know my video fee was $450 and they paid it but the contract and briefings were a headache. Recently I had a brand that offered $900 without me asking. I did 2 videos and they sent another Brand to me. One week later they offered another $900 for 2 more videos. I have 50K followers and usually have 15-20K in sales from my video links, with January being the largest. 100K. I am still confused about a lot of things even tho I have an agency through them who gets 10% of my commissions for advising etc... I don't know if it's worth it or not though. Someone advised me to make a media Kit but I don't even really know what to charge for everything. I even just based my video fee on the # of followers I had when I was at 45K and I've kept It at $450. I work full time but I'd love to do this thing instead. I just wish I knew where to start. I don't 100% trust the agencies that are basically connected to TT. I've been hearing some not so good seller maneuvers with commission when we give them our Ad codes. Sorry so long but although I love doing this it's A LOT 😬😫

Have you checked to see if any of the brands you already use have affiliate programs? Try googling your favorites + “affiliate” or “ambassador.” You’d be surprised which ones are looking for creators.
