I love the brute power of the IF23, but that UI is way too much for my retarded brain. That's why I ended up ordering the IF24, which to me is a nice in between the 23 and the 24pro.
Thank you for the incredibly helpful video. Incredibly helpful. Really. Wow! Are you saying that it is only possible to use the 4150 lumens beam for 50 seconds? And after that, it reverts to a 900 lumens? If so, are there any models that have a 3,000+ lumen beam that sustains for a significant duration?
@@joyflg1rl 50 seconds is normal for that lumen output for the size. There's no headlamp out there that I know of that lasts longer. 900 lumens sustained is excellent.
😀 Almost tempted, i wouldn't mind trying the 5700k version, but wonder by how far it underperforms its 3000 lumen rating, site says only 1 left.....but assume it will ramp down from max just as fast. So will pass for now.
6500 to 5700 isn’t that much, so I’d guess around a couple hundred at most.. it wouldn’t be noticeable most likely. If it’s over 300 lumens I’d be surprised..
The 5700K is of the 9050 version which is 90 CRI, this is 2500 lumens that drops to 2000. I forgot to note this in the review is the R70 with 70 CRI. If you look at the range you'll see that 500 lumens doesn't impact the brightness too much, only a loss of 21m. The M21H is far more impressive that I'll upload Tuesday.
I hate 4000k emitters.. give me warm white for the fun or give me cool white. 5000k is tolerable, but 5700k+ is where it’s at.. except for 24-3000k. Those are nice for retro mag light vibes. I dedomed a 2700k and brought it to 2400k.. it’s nice… hate it for edc, but it’s nice.. been looking for a multi emitter 2700k I can use for more than 800lumens of joy lol
Interesting light! I gravitate towards Anduril based flashlights but will only buy ones that can take 18650 or 21700 batteries. Looking forward to the Anduril UI, Wurkkos TS26 (not the TS26s) that's due later this month. 😀🔦
finally someone who includes the sustainable lumens, most of the others just shows off how bright the light not the practicality ang usability of the light is.

Molicell p45b: SPOT: 736m. SPOT/FLOOD: 680m 32650: (whatever this thing takes): SPOT: 711m. SPOT/FLOOD: 623m. Testers have noted that the light is damaging the stock batt overtime due to pulling too many amps on it and overloading it. 21700 fits easily, but needs a spacer to keep from wobbling about. Someone recommended a 3/4” rubber grommet.
Yeah, I use a 21700 to 26650 spacer with 2x rubber orings around it. Considered selling them but too much messing around. Disappointing that Sofirn couldn't care less about battery safety.
I have the IF 24 pro and i didnt like the beam tbh but easily hot swappable with convoy's various tir lenses. Which make it an even better deal for me in the end
@@PiercingTheDarkness yes they are all my S2+ extras. Don't forget to reuse the o-ring that came with the flashlight. Have fun mix and matching to your preference. Cheers
@@PiercingTheDarknessyou're welcome. I was pleasantly surprised with the perfect fit. No finagling required. Just drop the lens, o-ring the retaining ring.
Hi, if you look at the top of the screen at 0:46 where I'm showing my measurements, you'll see a note that says "ANSI = Measurement at 30 Seconds". If a manufacturer states that their specs were measured using the ANSI FL1 Standard, this means that they switched on the flashlight and waited for 30 seconds before recording the lumens and range. You can clearly see that they recorded turbo the second that turbo was switched on, and not at the 30 seconds. This is not a 5000 lumen flashlight as advertised under the ANSI FL1 Standard. According to my measurements it's only a 2700 lumen flashlight.
Comment for algorithm. Wanted the if24 pro but when I saw peoples beamshots I was disgusted with the rings.. nah…. Btw I like the new profile pic. Saw it the other day.
Yeah, the rings are truly off putting, however I'm still considering to stock it in my store, or perhaps I go with the Wurkkos HD01. That laser power is illegal to sell in New Zealand though, so that's a risk, but who's going to know without any mention of the rating in the manual lol. Thank you
@@PiercingTheDarkness that’s a tough one.. I almost feel like the hd01 would sell better, but again with the liability… the pro may be the better bet, but people looking at this are likely going to care about the rings.. but the pro has a cult following form the if23… the hd01 is a newer design, so less base…but more people would likely be attracted to it… but it’s illegal… lol… my vote is the hd01 so long as it’s not likely you would be fined.
Finally, an excellent beamshot comparison between the three models! 🔦👍 I have the IF23 but have held back from buying the IF24. Should I decide on the IF24, it'll be the Pro version with the buck driver. This is a good demonstration of the IF23's brute force illumination (4000 lumens) vs the IF 24 Pro's focused light energy (1800 lumens) to reach the distance. I read that Sofirn's decision to use the clear floodlight lens was based on the results of a poll conducted on their Facebook page. The majority voted against the translucent lens that's fitted to the IF23.
These are all significantly larger in size than the Arkfield with larger capacity batteries & higher output. A better competitor size and output-wise would be the Wurkkos HD01. I believe Wurkkos and Sofirn are associated with each other or sister companies, something like that. Anyways looking at the numbers, the Arkfield pro is much floodier beam while the Wurkkos is more throw oriented. The IF24 pro is even much more throwy still than HD01. Olight will have proven quality (durability, waterproof, drop tested,) lifetime warranty. It also offers UV & green laser which the Wurkkos offers but none of the Sofirns do. But they all offer side flood lights as well as multi color LEDs on the side and the Arkfield does not. I have the Wurkkos currently and it's a great light. I ordered the IF24 pro last week and it should be arriving soon (from China so slow shipping). Tonight I bought the Arkfield pro during Olights big sale. But based on owning previous Olights, quality and durability are top notch as well as efficiency.
@@uzielmartinez8373 For EDC I'd rather take the HD01. If I want something with more range then perhaps the IF24 Pro. I do like the IF24 Pro, it's just the rings in the beam that stop me loving it. Sofirn should have used a reflector like in the IF23.
@@PiercingTheDarkness i hope they will release if24pro max 🤣 with the reflector from if23. Yeah the rings on if24pro are pretty off. Im eyeing the if24pro and it has been on my cart since the build looks nice. But after the review i might just get the hd01. Or might buy both who knows. 😁
Your beamshots are beautiful! I am on the fence whether to pull the trigger on HK08 and I think this video has helped me to decide already (which is a yes!).
Why doesn't the 21700 molicel fit? Is it to long? I have a really nice 3d printed spacer that goes from 32650 to 21700 for my if30 and it also works with my maurader mini. I like this light it has some potential.
@@PiercingTheDarkness Damn that's what I was afraid of. I think a samsung 40t might make it but I much rather prefer to run the Molicel. I hope some high amp 32650 batteries come out soon even if they don't have 6500 mah i would be very happy with a 32650 with 5200 mah or a little more if it had higher amps than the current ones available.
