This channel is all about reminding you of the games you love, and maybe introducing you to some new ones along the way. I'm currently working through some of our favourite 2000's era franchises, so if that is a particular interest of yours, hopefully I have some stuff you'll enjoy!
I work real hard on these and stay up way past my bedtime getting them ready, so any likes are a huge support. If you are enjoying the videos, would love for you to subscribe so you can stick around for new videos! I post a new video every friday!
I beat this back around 2011, and I remember really liking it. I do remember some of the escort flying missions being painful, but I remember the frustration being sparse, and really enjoying most of the game. Fuzzy memories though.
This game started out more or less how I wanted it, but aimed at 5 year olds, OG RnCwas aimed at a younger generation but wasn't catered for them. Cringe story and characters with a mashup of RnC 1 and 3 stories, which doesn't flow well, Ratchet and Clank had no development and were instantly best friends on sight. Gameplay was fine but the levels weren't enjoyable. I haven't even thought about playing an RnC game since playing this one not long after it released, this game soured the series for me. I'd only count on a legitimate remaster to enjoy the series again..
Sounds like a skill issue.... Not every game should be a walk in the park. I'm happy this game had a tad bit of difficulty, it makes the gameplay stick with you overtime. if 10 year old me was able to beat this game relatively easily, then maybe you are just not a true gamer lol
I can't remember where I read it, but I heard that Insomniac wanted to do a PS3 finale for R&C but looked at how much time they had left before the release of the PS4 and knew that they couldn't fit a full game in. So they made a half-sized game instead. I'm not sure why they didn't make it a cross-gen game, but I'd guess that they were experienced with the PS3 by then and it would have taken additional time to release it for PS4 as well.
Plenty of better options? Where are those? Battlefield is death in water since BF3, series like Crysis, Frontlines, Titanfall, Section 8, Fear and Perfect Dark are over, Battlefront got turned into different genre, we will never get another Transformers WfC, few indie game shooters even offer single-player, multiplayer & vehicle combat in one game. And outside of milsim shit - there is honestly not much else that offers the full package.
5:45 I love the Film Noir genre, and one thing that all of those movies have in common is that there are no good guys. Even the protagonists of those stories are in some way depraved. So, this also being the case in a game called 'L.A. Noire' comes as no big surprise to me. 😉
I’m playing it now and i have always loved this game. Don’t matter what it looks like now compared to other new games. This game holds the test of time. Its graphics were great for the time it came out. Wish a 2nd game would come out of a complete remaster of this with next gen graphics.
I feel weird looking at all those greyish colours on PS4 version, because I have PS2 and the game is BRIGHT It was one of reasons to just load the game, go to Sentinel Beach and stay for *vibe*
The first game will always be my favorite, but Deadlocked is a very close second because to this day it still has the best combat out of any game in the series. The weapon sandbox is tightly designed and playing on higher difficulties ensures you will make the most out of all the tools at your disposal. I'm still baffled as to why people who enjoyed Up Your Arsenal's linear combat-focused levels would turn their nose up at Deadlocked because it's basically a much more refined and focused version of what Up Your Arsenal was trying to be.
I played and beat Jak II on PS2. It was a couple years after it released though. I don’t remember it being difficult except one specific part I just couldn’t get past. I watched a video of someone else beating that section and then I beat it myself on my next attempt. I was young though and I think our younger selves are much more resilient to challenges in games. Also, I had played a LOT of Ratchet and Clank before picking up Jak lol.
This is unbelievable. Im partly here because of the new Astro Bot, but yeah. This runs like a dream; the game looks amazing playing on a 4K monitor. Much thanks to OpenGoal for all the hard work.
Dang was wandering about textures due to my laptop beeing 10yo without any cleaning(wandered if textures was to big), and got surprised how good this is
Nah man, I know I'm 2 years late to the party, but you did my boy Bekowsky dirty! Biggs is also decent, and don't forget the guy who gave that homeless murder victim a place to sleep and wants to organize her burial. Everyone else is dumb though, I agree. Also I love this game and it's never too late to experience it!
I am 75% through it on my PS5 and have 6 hours 30 mins so far… If I didn’t play it as a kid , this game would be so bad. I love the series so much that I am playing through it for PlayStation trophies. It’s the worst game out of the first 3 Jak games. IMO
I'm playing through the game currently and I agree with all your points. I think pacing definitely suffers with the story and the way missions are done, at least at the start - lots of (what's going on)(go do this mission, maybe it will help me)(ok are you going to tell me what's going on yet)(no we're not going to talk about it at all, go do this mission). That being said, I am really enjoying myself playing it. I keep trying to indulge myself in the hub world.... but there really isn't much there and I'm willing to accept it now that you mention it. Jak and Daxter's strengths were that every place you visited had so much character and mystique about it, something that's very much lost on this game (without all the precursors and sage stuff). Really looking forward to finishing my playthrough. I'm on the hoverboard bomb throwing mission and I gotta say... Definitely in competition for worst missions in the game - as most hoverboard missions have been for me so far.
I just played it for the first time, this was my first Ratchet & Clank game ever. I had so much fun, I was almost mad when I finished it. Rarely been this entertained by a game, I laughed at the gameplay in a good way all the time, the guns are so delightfully dumb. The story was fine and I loved the way it was told through Qwark but the way some parts were thrown at you was a bit lacking, like when you get caught and ''simply go home''. I went like, ok sure but, how and why ? Other than that it was real good.
It's never too late to play Halo. Just play legendary at your own risk. Most of them are ridiculous on legendary. Heroic is a nice middle ground of fair, challenging difficulty. I miss playing Halo for the first time.
