I'm so glad you're here! Welcome to The Simply Organized Home. My name is Kaitlin and I'm a wife and mom to 2 boys. You will find videos about simplifying your home and life to make room for more of what you love. Here I share decluttering, organizing, simple farmhouse decorating, and budgeting inspiration for busy moms who are tired of cluttered homes, busy schedules, and busting budgets!
The issue I have is I have a child with someone who I am no longer with and he has her on the weekends so all the nice clothes I get are sent over there and she returns home in stained play clothes and her nice school clothes all end up over there over time
Thank you. I just watched another organizer, a RU-vid channel, and the amount of ppwk she was organizing gave me anxiety. 😢 Your reassurance is what I was looking for.
I’m 72 is there a way of me following this at a slower pace what you’re saying is awesome and I really want to get on that budget and learn how to do it. I’m not good in a computer that I’m wanting to do this to better myself and I’m glad you’re doing this thank you. What is this?
I absolutely love everything you said! Im trying to teach this to my family. Im looking for ways to downsize in toys and clothes. This was perfect starting place.
Nice, BUT I want to have directions so that I know how my electrical box is set up, what circuits go where. I also want to have instructions in case I need to turn off the gas. These might actually be helpful in case of emergency!! I would also like a checklist of things to do if you are expecting a hurricane or weather emergency like a blizzard. For example, make sure your cars have a full tank of gas BEFORE the storm hits. What can you eat if you have no electricity or gas? Can you move somewhere safe ahead of time? How about boarding up windows? I guarantee you will not think of these things unless you have thought about them ahead of time. All your stuff is cutesy, but there are also practical things that aren’t even considered here.
I was inspired by a mum on you tube who had 4 tshirts, 4 long tops, 4 pants, 4 shorts each for her boys. They do a family load of laundry every day so its all they need. Seemed not enough to me but now my 7 year old boy has got sooo fussy and will only where 2 of his long tops, about 3 t shirts, 2 shorts and 3 track pants. So were surviving on even less! He doesnt get very dirty so i just wash them after a couple of days wear.
Ok I'm late to the game, but I'm wondering if any of your stuff is undated? I got excited when I found all your printables, just bought the packet and realized everything is dated. I'm still going to use what I can, just a little bummed I didn't check first.

My ex (father of my child) called me a hoarder about a year or so ago, and it really made me so upset. When he left me and our daughter, he moved into a luxurious family home with a maid, while I was left as a single mom with a full time job, a child, a small apartment, and with no support system, of any note. I have purged so many times over the years... the clothes seem to be the worst and the "maybe box" in my case seems to be just random crap that is accumulating in stacks everywhere in my home... "don't throw these brand new skates away that the kid never wore - you can sell them instead!" - that type of accumulation and "future intent" definitely prevails. Anyway, I am having so much trouble just knowing where to start, and some people close to me recently died - including my best friend a month ago, and then getting laid off when my company was bought and me and scores of other employees were summarily let go... it has led me to just feel paralyzed, isolated, and then also ashamed of it. So, thanks for your videos - the 15 minute quick de-clutter project is helpful, and i am taking baby steps. I have had my place in beautiful condition, but trying to do it alone and under stress and grief has been overwhelming. Not throwing in the towel, just need to tackle this tsunami of clutter somehow.
@nicolegibson1820 Thank you! What uncanny timing. Tbh, things are worse, however, as I read your reply, I happened to be tackling my clothes piles as I watch my before bedtime RU-vid fluff. Ha! So, it's just one step at a time, but thank you for your videos, I actually thought just today about some of your advice, and it inspired me to tackle evwn one little bit instead of passively worrying about the monumental task(s) at hand. :)
Don’t declutter because your ex called you a hoarder…do it because you deserve a peaceful space and a well deserved new start .. You will be surprised how doing this affects other areas of your life . If possible do any low impact workout you can find online .. JUST START! It helps give you mental clarity 😊
Kitchen on Sunday, Cook on Monday, Laundry on Tuesday, Floors on Wednesday, Dust on Thursday, Car on Friday, Relationships/Rest/Relax on Saturday. The rest is just organization but a consistency helps reduce anxiety. I'm gonna try this schedule. I did use your binder idea though and I don't feel so panicked when I get new papers now! thank you for the idea.
I can't tell you how much you have helped me. Thank you for your simple and common sense advice. I have chronic pain and can no longer do seasonal decorating. I am looking for a way to simplimy space so I can clean without becoming exhausted half way. I've watched many decluttering videos and read many books but still felt unsure and unmotivated. You have found a way to explain the process and maintenance to me that makes sense to me and, more importantly, feels achievable. You are a blessing!
Quick editing note: The original loan amount on your loans is "principal" (not "principle"). I love the looks of this budget! Thanks for putting so much effort into it and sharing it with us :)
Just discovered your channel. Thank you for this wonderful video. Your phrase of hoarding really put things in perspective. You have given me the nudge I needed!
It’s hard tho because when I shuffle stuff around I usually go back and need something out of it haha 😂 I’m having issues with what to do with my kids papers drawings and journals also books 🤦♀️
Thank you. very very useful information I found here. Especially the part you mentioned how you felt about the staff your mom kept for you, it gave me an idea of what to keep and what to let go. Really, thank you!
