Thank you for this video , very helpful. My question is instead of using the switch. why not just grab the magnet and go back and forth to adjust your brakes? and yes I am a beginner at this . getting ready to install my first set of brakes on my camper.
I used a screwdriver and a flashlight to adjust my self adjusting drum brakes. I set each tire the same as I would manual adjusting brakes. You can do it by clicking the lever up or down. You wasted a lot of time to do something that should take a few minutes. It took me longer to raise the wheel than it did adjusting the brake.
They are drum brakes. Just manual adjust to a slight drag. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Your burning up the magnet by leaving it on for a per longed time.
Could you please explain How grasping the torque wrench at different locations changes The torque value.. I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around this on account of because it seems to me that the torque wrench is going to click at the predetermined torque setting regardless of where your hand is applying pressure
Is it safe to gamble on your existing head gasket? I personally would hate to have to do a timing job because I know I’ll screw it up and loose patience
I stopped hang gliding 19 years ago when my son was born. I did do some inland flying, but mostly coastal flying above sand dunes just north of Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Launched via a 4x4 from the beach. This made me nostalgic, and a little sad. I love my son and I think it was the right thing to do considering I became a sole parent. I still have my Airborne Sting X country. Maybe I should replace the lines and fly again. Thanks for the memories and cool scenery and action.
This just popped into my feed (3-29-24). Hope you are still flying. I believe I flew along with you in my super floater at Crestline when you were playing with your new (at the time ) drone quite some time ago.
Amazing video, I have a 13 6.7. And have some injector tubes leaking. This is a great informative video, on how things are taken apart, and installed. Thank you.
You would not be the first person to overshoot Andy Jackson, or the last. I put a falcon down a few feet closer to the edge, right were you did. I began watching your videos before I took my first discovery flight at Sonora Wings, now I've flown Crestline and landed at AJX. I hope to meet you someday.
Great video! Plan on doing this upgrade soon…one thing I noticed is instead of lubing the top of the washer, you can put them on totally clean , and just lube the bottom if the nut…serves the same purpose . Did you end of making a thread chaser with an old bolt? Or just blow out the threads? Thx BG
This is a great video! I have a question. I have had my 06 cummins apart for a while waiting on parts. Im installing the same injectors that you are. I had to replace pistons and overhaul it. My rail has not been capped off. Do you have a recommended procedure for cleaning it out to be sure I dont have an issue? I am running an air dog. Also Im going to drain out all the old fuel and replace the filter and separator as well. Thanks
One thing for certain. If you own an older or even newer diesel, you will keep coming back to quality videos like this. Very good mechanic practices in this one.
If your gonna torque with the crows foot there is math you have to do to.get an accurate torque value. I can't remember what it is anymore but the crows foot is essentially putting out more torque than the wrench is set at. So say I set the wrench at 100ft lbs then the crows foot would be putting out say 110ft lbs, not accurate but you get the point hopefully.
It's certainly the best video i have watched going through changing my injector #5 on truck is very very detailed and as some of us like to be and we don't let anything slide out since it's possible to get it done , i really appreciate and recommend your content and knowledge sir , awesome work and class since I'm not a diesel expert but only a mechanic petrol head learner , i will do learn a whole ton from you sir !!!! Awesome thanks to you señor !!! Greetings from Louisiana....
Great video Greg, thank you. I am in the process of installing new connectors and I didn't seat the injectors at 44-in/lbs prior to seating the connector tubes. I haven't tightened anything yet. Would you back out the connectors and repeat under the right specs? Thanks.
