M67v is an automotive related platform where someone can watch a video of a specific car, and leave knowing a lot more about it, and hopefully decide if they want it or not. There also may be vlogs or other video formats, but still car related.
300k miles and doin 6 flat yessir! my 08 le v6 does it in 5.7-5.8 sometimes 6.5 if i spin through the whole first gear and man does it snatch off on r/t's. i bet if you had 100k like me yours would prolly do it in 5.6 given that its 60 pounds lighter. i've seen a stock xv50 v6 do 5.4 before man... really wish i got that instead of my 08 and it's fully loaded! but that 140 on the dash just gives me the icks personally. 160 would've been a lot more fitting but ig a car that can damn near do the whole dash WITH the limiter is satisfying to see. i heard these ones cap out at 133 while mines caps out at 138. my xv40 and your xv50 both have things that are better than the other. me personally i like the start up chime on mines better than yours but then i like the fact you have a fully loaded sedan which is lighter than mines which don't even got a sunroof and all auto windows. then mines got the better speedo and slightly faster while your speedo is more engaging to look at and is slightly quicker !!
Yeah I hate the startup chime on this Camry too; makes it sound cheap. Thankfully the newer ones have the Lexus chime. Your generation Camry is actually quicker than this one because the gearing is a lot shorter for yours. I think my generation has better top end though. But yeah V6 Camrys are great. Love these cars.
@@M67v i thought 07-17 with the v6 got the same gear ratios. 3rd gear short af which really gets it punching. and yea i think yours has quicker top end bc its lighter
I was having the same problem. Research led me to believe it's the capacitor. My workaround had been to disconnect the 12V battery in trunk; then reconnect it. This works but began to be more of a nuisance. I decided to wire a light -switch (common AC light switch 120V/15A found cheaply in hardware stores) with a short length of wire (common lamp-wire 14-gauge). Wired between grounding screw and ground wire to battery. This method allows easy access to disconnect/reconnect battery (i.e. reset electrical system). Capacitors acts to reduce ripple effect on the voltage. The main problem seems to be as the original capacitor(s) degrade over time, they may no longer reliably reduce the initial ripple (upon startup) to allow the computer to fully initialize; hence the multifunction display isn't brought online. While the light-switch was a fairly easy, quick, and cheap workaround, it seems to also have resolved the issue! Perhaps the addition of the switch and wiring induces a small measure of capacitance? In any case, I haven't had that issue again in months, if it recurs I can reset via the switch. Note: I folded the excess metal of switch and used electrical tape wrapped around it to form protective 'wings' so switch doesn't accidentally get switched OFF. Works great!
My car comes with PCC (Personal Car Communicator), so it also has the ability to unlock, lock, and start via proximity. You can tell if your Volvo has PCC if there’s an “i” button on the keyfob, or if there’s buttons on every door handle to lock the car.
I owned this very car for a month, and there’s a big reason why I didn’t keep it for longer. I didn’t like it. You’re right, it is pretty fun to drive around corners thanks to its lightweight, good steering feel, and its boxer engine giving it a low center of gravity. After you had your fun however, it’s unrefined to drive everywhere else, especially on the highway with its awful high speed stability. I know economy cars are generally not that refined, but I find Honda Civics and Mazda3s far more pleasant to drive and sit in than this Impreza. The Impreza’s only advantage is its AWD system. Other than that, I wouldn’t bother unless it’s a WRX.
Back when I drove this, I’d get about 17-20 MPG in the city, and I could easily get 30+ MPG highway, even cruising at 80 MPH. Once I even got as high as 38 MPG highway driving like a grandma. Impressive for a V6!
Yeah the Prime does 60 in like 5.5-5.8 while the V6 does 6.3-6.5 and I believe the regular hybrid is still a decent margin slower than the V6 at 7.2-7.5 and the standard 4cyl 7.9-8.2. Needless to say the V6 is still the fastest behind the Prime.
@@stevey500 Depends on the AWD system too. Most modern AWD systems kick in near-instantly. Wheelspin with AWD has more to do available traction, which this car’s tires didn’t have a lot of. Otherwise, wheelspin rarely has to do with the AWD system itself.
That old 4WD system was part time- you had to push the 4WD button for it to be on. And as soon as the speed touched 25 mph, it automatically shut off. The rear diff was about the size of a softball, so it wasn't built for much of a load.
Great video! Your are correct, in these days it doesn't matter what you drive somebody has something to say. trolling is out of control and people try make their opinions fact off of other peoples experience from a video or an article. I say drive what you like, drive what you can afford, drive safe, stay alive and out of jail. God bless and keep making videos.
That's not his problem, and eventually even "slapping" the dash won't work. The C3 capacitor is failing and it will need replacing. It's an easy job if you can solder otherwise i would send the board out and have it done.
