I owned this very car for a month, and there’s a big reason why I didn’t keep it for longer. I didn’t like it. You’re right, it is pretty fun to drive around corners thanks to its lightweight, good steering feel, and its boxer engine giving it a low center of gravity. After you had your fun however, it’s unrefined to drive everywhere else, especially on the highway with its awful high speed stability. I know economy cars are generally not that refined, but I find Honda Civics and Mazda3s far more pleasant to drive and sit in than this Impreza. The Impreza’s only advantage is its AWD system. Other than that, I wouldn’t bother unless it’s a WRX.
@@392Low I sold it after a month of driving it because I was personally not impressed with it. The car overall felt very tin-can-like in terms of build quality, and it’s devoid of any amenities beyond power accessories and auxiliary audio input, and mind you my car was almost fully loaded. The flat-4 engine is smooth compared to conventional I4 engines, but it lacks low-end and mid-range torque which is partly why the acceleration is so slow. 4-speed automatic does no favors either. The trunk is a decent size, but I expected more interior room from a hatchback. It’s quite cramped. My least favorite part is how the car becomes twitchy above 70 MPH. You can forget about 80+ MPH cruising in this car; it feels sketchy. I do like the steering feel tho. Overall the car is fine if you want something cheap especially an AWD car. Otherwise they’re so many better options
