May i say, atleast in finland Sly Cooper is pretty popular just becase of 2nd and 3rds legendary finnish dubs. I dunno about the other countries and their dubs so i cannot say anything about them...
I'm 99% sure Busten Out's soundtrack has some CIA MK Ultra effect on me due to how much I played that game. I remember 100% that game. I also turned around and would add the things Malcolm took from the storyline houses.
I really miss yearly releases. Based on the leaks we won’t have a new Ratchet game until the end of the ps5 era. We need the future saga remastered or ports for ps5.
Back as a kid i farmed the RYNO thinking that this is a gadget that helps in that stupid underwater section that gave every child nightmares. I didn't know English at all at the time and so my parents.
I'm glad you mentioned the super cool aspect of actually controlling your Sim with the analog sticks, walking around and actually "living" as your Sim. I'm surprised they didn't push this more for later games. But I guess it's more pc centric, and now is a F2P GAAS slop so...
Man im literally replaying this now. And i gotta say again. This game was way ahead of its time. Way way ahead. Just look at the smoke and the ship and everything. Atmosphere and amazing terrifying sounds! Graphics are still holding after 10 years. Im playing it on ultra everything and im shocked how good actually looks 'till this day! We need sequel( i don't count that mobile shit). Something like this just on different ship, and developers could easily follow the story here, like it was done in the movie.
I can't say I'm a fan of Sakamoto, especially as he was during Other M, but I've heard that a number of the big issues with Samus's character actually came down to localisation changes. Which frankly is hugely annoying.
The only two sims games I like was the sims 2 and sims 2 castaway on ps2. For the simple reason that I could control my characters with the stick instead of point and click. If they added that in the new ones I’d probably play the newer ones but I don’t like them
I got my tonsils and adenoids out in 4th grade. My parents got me a PS2 with rachet and clank to keep me occupied through the post-surgery pain, and although it did definitely suck, playing Rachet and Clank made it so much better.
For me I always thought the arenas in R&C 2 and 3 where some of the best parts of the game, then when this came out it felt like a whole game dedicated to that style of play. Loved it.
Serious question! In black water city sewers has ANYONE ELSE HAD A GLITCH where the camera glitched under and over the rising water then SUDDENLY the water IS WHERE THE AIR IS SUPPOSE TO BE AND THE AIR IS AT THE BOTTOM. I had the air and water literally swap places and I could walk through the sewers with rising air and floating water. Never had it happen again
Wanted to point something out about the ending in Sly 2. After Sly had escaped, was Carmelita re-arrested after she landed the plane at HQ or did she keep her job and resumed duties with her newly appointed rank and promotion? As much as I liked Sly 2, most of the plots in the game never seemed to make sense. Aside Carmelita in the ending, how is it that HQ NEVER fully investigated the "Arrest" of Carmelita Fox? Did they not have questions? And how were they able to buy Neyla's story with ONE EVIDENCE: The photo? Like, I get that evidence is key here, but Neyla pretty much made herself a roadblock at that. And even with the Contessa on her side, Neyla's "Evidence" is pretty much a "Her word against mine" concept. And talking with the witnesses at Rajah's "Kingdom" would also be a no go, since nobody would even know about Carmelita, Neyla AND Contessa's being a part of Interpol until Carmelita blew the whistle. I know this was meant to "Draw up the surprise twist" and such, but even that plan sounded bogus! Chief Barkley, who ONLY appeared in the end cutscene with no voice lines, the writers COULD'VE had him brought in as the only cop who KNEW of Carmelita's innocence, especially if he had a gut feeling that something's wrong the moment he got word of her "Arrest". Knowing something's wrong, he'd probably would've had no choice but to do his own investigation, bumping into Bentley at Prague. Once he got the full info from him about the Contessa's true intentions, Barkley would've called a temporary truce between Interpol and the Cooper Gang, until he and Bentley got to the bottom of this mystery and gotten Sly, Murray and Carmelita out of prison. A different story with him included would be something, and Barkley would've been given a role in the game as well to make things more interesting! Like an NPC, or a playable character like in Sly 3 with his own unique skills, or just as a form of support. Make him like Jim Gordon from Batman in a manner of speaking, but offers Sly and the gang advice and even a hint provider if the Players are stuck on a certain mission. But that's just my opinion and idea. If a remaster of the Sly Trilogy ever came to mind, I think the games should be given a rewrite of some plots of the story, like how the plot of Ratchet and Clank were rewritten!
“Sly 4 is better than Sly 3” ok, thems fighting words lol. I love all your videos, Ratchet and Clank and Sly are my favorite games from my childhood, I love hearing about the development and reliving the stories now that I’m old
It was interesting watching this after the release of Astro Bot, a game which has been lauded for its nods to other sony franchises. Goes to show how on the money you were about Sony being more open to that style of cross-promotion nowadays.
This is the kind of game that Playstation used to excel at and thrive on. And if the reception of Astro Bot teaches them anything, it's that they need to get back into it :)
37:32 I haven't seen anyone mention this, but in Clank's apartment, you can actually activate the game console sitting on the coffee table. You can use the Dynamo on it, and it will activate a secret mini-game called "Sheep Invaders." You can, of course, access this Secret mini-game in the cheats menu after beating the game, but I feel like this is one of those things that a lot of people never knew about.
Gosh I remember thie whiplash of starting with Busting out on gamecube, urbz on xbox and sims 2 and 2 pets on game cube and the jump to three being a true port. I was so confused and actually stopped playing the sims for a while because I grew up with the frame works of a story mode and didn’t know the real sims experience till I was older. Always been bad at the whole “make your own story” thing I shut down with many possibilities and end up sitting in the corner doing none till I turn it off and pick up something else.
Just beat this game for the first time and while I prefer the 3 games before it, it was still a lot of fun. The gunplay was really satisfying and it felt really good upgrading your weapons faster than the previous game. I love the pure action this game brings but I will always prefer the gameplay, characters, writing, music etc; from 1-3.
I hadn't played ratchet and clank since ps2 and I got a ps4 exclusively for this game. Needless to say it wasn't really worth it, but it wasn't a horrible experience either
I didn't play this game until I was like 32. I grew up on the golden age of FF, and I STILL love this game! Is it rough? hell yea it is. Is it as polished and well done as some of the FF games or other rpg's of the time? Maybe not. But it's still an awesome game!
