This is our girl singing live, no supporting backtrack, right? I mean, those who know differently and are sure, please, correct the majority of us who might be mistaken. Because, the way she is so trepidatious at :59 and 1:14, before belting (and nailing) those crescendo notes, is simultaneously marvelous and maddening. If only she was allowed by the world - and herself - to recognize when she was having a truly "good day." She wouldn't feel the need to moderate and modulate her voice and music with undue meticulousness.
That was so beautiful. She could really sing in this key and we'd lovebher all the same. She should sing in a lower key more often.l and just throw some highs in every now and then
That voice today wouldn't have gotten all those awards from 30 yrs ago. She sounded a hot screechy mess and even she knew her voice is not the same. She was very off key and nasally. Imagine paying to hear that😂Yeah, stick to vocal tracks.
Very hard songs to sing and she thrives. I have a question, have you noticed that other RnB and pop performers don't really perform songs out of Mariah's discography, cos they are really hard songs to sing. Mariah was and still is in a league of her own
i love the energy this video emanates. ofc the performance but also the crowd responding to the music and lyrics! she came through solid live vocals, choreo and energy despite it literally was 8 am in the morning 😭
One thing about Mariah.. she was VERY confident about her songwriting abilities. She knew that’s what made her unique( despite having the most agile voice and incredible melisma)
When Mariah first performed a big live show for MTV's Unplugged, the first thing she said to the audience, was something like: "I am not used to this." The live show was so well received, that it gave her a lot of confidence to perform live, and she proceeded to prove herself even better live than recorded.
After Mariah Carey doing a public service to boost morale of the US troops in Kosovo. The newslady had to time to throw shade by making a comment, “Camouflage and cleavage for our troops”. What public service had she done to help!?!?
Dope video. There's actually one of these you could swap out for another video. I believe the MJ Cole Remix of Loverboy used all the original vocals from the album version. If you ever do an updated video you could swap it out and replace it with the this Street Remix of Boy (I Need You) that had some new ad libs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sDux5TEJPyI.htmlsi=_t0mxQHukbP6-ezm
