Oh my God, when she hits that high notes, and it is 100% live, it reminds us that she is still Mariah that we all know many years ago, ... she still is..
This amazing she was 48 years old here (actually she had 36 anniversaries of turning 12 in her own words) she is singing one hell of a hard song to pull off. She is simply approaching the notes differently than before but that only proves that yet again she taught herself to sing like this, she did in the 90s, Butterfly era again, Emancipation and Charmbracelet, MIAM she was sort of combining and it's clear her voice has changed but what's clearer is that she changed with it to still deliver the Mariah Carey that's not simply a vocal technician, not simply a good singer, she goes above and beyond that to make sure we still enjoy that beautiful tone. That is so ething than can't be taught, you're born with it and she got looks, talent and genes
My favorite Mariah Carey song. I hate the fact that she's never performed this full song live. The closest we got was that one special where she performed the Hero mix version. I've always wanted to see her pull off the ending to this song live. 😔😔😔
Everybody is acting like Mariah does not still have the high notes. What i found most surprising is that she still has the low ones which could have been utilised in the big energy remix.
My favorite track from Glitter .. I always felt this song is the hardest to perform ... feels like it requires much from her too ... but she always finds a way to make it bright 🥰
This is our girl singing live, no supporting backtrack, right? I mean, those who know differently and are sure, please, correct the majority of us who might be mistaken. Because, the way she is so trepidatious at :59 and 1:14, before belting (and nailing) those crescendo notes, is simultaneously marvelous and maddening. If only she was allowed by the world - and herself - to recognize when she was having a truly "good day." She wouldn't feel the need to moderate and modulate her voice and music with undue meticulousness.
That was so beautiful. She could really sing in this key and we'd lovebher all the same. She should sing in a lower key more often.l and just throw some highs in every now and then
As a sound engineer let me explain: LIPPED PARTS: ONLY: (FROM 0:51 TO 1:01) AND (FROM 1:12 TO 1:18) THE REST WAS ALL LIVE SHE DID THAT TO SAVE HER VOICE ON THOSE HIGH PARTS. BUT WHO CARES? SHE CAN SING, SHE'S THE BEST VOCALIST, AND ONDE MORE THING: SHE HERSELF RECORDED THOSE HIGH NOTES BEFORE. SO.... SHE STILL THE BEST
Can someone tell me if this is lipped or pre recorded? I am a huge fan of mariah and this sounded live, it didnt sound lipped like how she did in 2001 with her high notes
When she’s Belting out LIVE notes above G#4 she would further her mic from her mouth. So whenever you see she’s belting out notes like the C5 at “NEVER TOO FAR AWAYYY” with her mic close to her mouth, you can tell that it’s very much possibly lipped. I’ve been observing most of her recent live shows and that’s what I’ve spotted. I’m a Lamb and I have a habit of spotting whether is the note live or lipped. But that never stop me from loving her. And I’m grateful that she sang back NEVER TOO FAR in caution your after 19 years, coz that’s my favorite song of hers.
How can people not realise when something is lip-synched like if she can barely hit a lower note in the verse how can she suddenly belt an octave higher in the chorus be frfr
