Hello, I see that you know this bike very well, can you tell me where I can find fuse box in this bike, I need to check abs fuse, I have 2013 z1000sx before fl, thank you
Do you know where I can connect my TomTom Rider 550? Is there anything prepared on the front left side? I cannot find it. Happy to hear news. Thanks in advance.
Throughly enjoyed your video. I’ve owned motorcycles most of my life and only really done the basics like oil / filter changes. I’ve always left the bike at the dealer for tire changes and more advanced stuff. One month ago I picked up my new 2024 Z900RS at the dealer where they had swapped out the tires because of a recall. I noticed immediately that they had the front wheel on backwards per the arrows pointing the wrong way on the tire. Now I wonder, how the hell did they even do this because the speed sensor would be on the right side instead of the left. These kids working at the dealerships are often trainees left to just do the job and figure it out as they go. Videos like this help me double check some of their work and make my riding much safer as a result.
Hey Jon, hope you’re well. Your videos are awesome, thank you. I have a 2019 N1K and there’s a lot of talk to go with a 55 rear tire for better handling, especially in corners. Is there any merit to this? Appreciate your insight.
I'm curiuos. You put grease on the axle. Why? And more importantly you did not take the opportunity to put fresh grease on the wheel spacers that the rubber seals rub on? Other than that its a helpful video.
thank you brother , you saved me 150CAD . my neighbors were impressed how fast i was able to put the whole thing together , and i never done this before , you are the best !!!!
As always, excellent video Jonathan! I had a strange experience yesterday on my 2019 N1K while starting up and going for a ride. While in my driveway I put bike into 1st gear (let warm up for about 30 seconds), then slowly let out the clutch and the bike shot down my driveway and into the street....I barely had time to pull in the clutch and brake. How I didn't drop the bike is a mystery. I absolutely, positively did not dump the clutch! Not sure what the heck happened but now my bike makes a louder "clunking" sound when shifting into 1st, then up through 2nd into 3rd. I hope I didn't inadvertently damage the clutch itself. If it's still acting strangely then I'll take it to my mechanic. So strange....
Very strange! That’s great that you didn’t drop the bike, though. Not that it matters much, but it would be better to have damage to the clutch than something else, like the transmission gears, since the clutch is a wear item and is designed to be easily replaced. My first guess would be to check your clutch cable. If the cable slipped, the clutch could engage sooner than you expected. Also make sure nothing else is interfering with the clutch cable housing, such as having the handlebars turned.
@@JonLong Hey Jon, I think I discovered the cause of my strange incident. Put the N1K on a stand, started him up and put into 1st gear…even with the clutch lever fully depressed the rear wheel was still turning! I adjusted the cable at the lever and it now properly disengages. Previous owner obviously had it set up incorrectly. Something I should have checked when I bought the bike!!! Lesson learned. Thanks again for your excellent videos, they really help us novices!!
Thanks for your help. This helped a lot for my similar 14 mm hex bolt for the '21 Ninja 650 front wheel. Reinstalling the new tire wheel front, getting that front bolt to catch the threads from the other side took me awhile to secure it back onto the bike as it wasn't catching the threads after several attempts, but going by hand seems to be a good approach. EDIT: Okay, I find that I had to get the threads to catch the bolt by using my left hand to pull the rim near the bolt towards me while with my right hand, applying first pressure while pushing in the bolt and turning the wrench with the 14 mm attachment hex bolt at the same time. It finally caught. I was about to give up but then your video gave me the inspiration. Thanks again!
Excellent channel, thanks Jonathan! Does yours run very hot? My 2019 N1K seems to always run 4/5 temp gauge bars with the fan coming on when 5 bars are hit. Recently did a coolant flush and replenished with Engine Ice coolant. Everything burped and topped off. Still a "hot" running bike, which I hope is a normal characteristic of the bike!
