I've been a fan of RC stuff all my life and on LAPEOS Sunrise RC Aviator I share my experience. I started with boats and cars and after that had a bunch of helicopters. When drones become good I did that for some years and finally I started flying RC planes which to me is the most fun of all RC things to explore.
The things you see me talking about is all purchased by me and the videos I publish are only my personal opinions and thoughts. I'm just an average RC hobbyist and explore things as I go along.
Interesting to see those flaperons in action and elevator adjustement. I use flaperons on my Discovery. Also i have Multiplex Funcub. It is very good plane. Many thanks for your videos, they are vey good.😊
Update to my "nosing over" problem. Rookie mistake - I had the landing gear backwards to wheels were tucked under the wing. :-( However, I have another question. I've watched your Valiant videos a number of times. Your plane seems to fly very "leisurely" whereas mine wants to act like a pylon racer - so much so that my mind and reflexes can't keep up with it. If I reduce throttle, it immediately wants to dive (not sink) toward the ground. Very scary. Every Valiant owner on youtube speaks nothing but praise for it, and they're videos show what I had hoped to experience - a controllable, but agile plane. What might I be doing wrong or what setup issue should i be looking to fix? Thanks and really enjoy your videos Jerry
I can’t agree more, this is such a great plane. Just back from the field and I’m still smiling. Flew 5 2200 packs with a mild wind. Thx for sharing, greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Gorgeous airplane! Too bad they don't make it anymore. I am rebuilding my xk version of this cub with a horizon hobby board because it flew as bad as yours did! It's a lot of work but I will love it when its finished.
This is a really good flier. I have one and I fly it really gentle, I never use full power and I fly it on 3S 2200. I fly 20 minutes and when I land it, the battery is still with 75 to 80% of power…
Does it overheat on 4s battery? I am a complete beginner and was running it on full throttle on the ground by holding it to check everything ok. Does running it on the ground by stopping it from the hands make it overheat? Will it be okay when it is flying in the air?
It does not overheat as it is specified to do 4s. What is good to know thou is you should not do 100% power all the time on any RC plane. During normal flight stay between 50-70% and use 100% when you need it for doing more agile aerobatics. If you do 100% all the time you will damaged your speedcontroller or motor and also get really short flight time. This is true for any RC plane.
Nice looking flyin' again there, Sven! 😉 1 of these days we might put the floats on my FMS SuperEZ v4 and find a waterhole somewhere. But mostly us Old Farts are sticking to the Minis. The Old Fellah still has his heavily glued Tundras but the light littlies are more our league. 😊
That sounds the prop makes is not good. Mine started making tat growling noises when I got near full throttle so I landed and stood over the tail and checked the prop by throttling it up and the prop came flying off cracking the cowl zipping by my face. I put it back on and have to mend the cowl somehow. This poor plane went from pretty to a beater after three flights. First one had my buddy maiden it for me and it was going great at the local flying field then signal loss ran it into one of the two trees in the field, and that knocked it down at the edge of the river connected to our field. Snapped the wing and tweaked it really bad at the wing joiner ruining it so I had to just glue the wing onto plane and back together where it snapped. She still flys but us a little more rougher on the eyes.
I love a good float fly! The E-flite Twin Otter and Aeroscout are my go-to float planes, but you sure have me thinking about picking up an Air Tractor now!
I've bought 2 of these and taught my Grandson to fly with it. Amazing stability with the gyro made it easy and we have had heaps of fun. I believe your centre of gravity was too far back making it stall and you needed to move the battery pack further forward. Yes the undercariage is too weak but still an amazing rc plane for $100
You need to rethink the use of the term SCALE. It is a descriptor of a ratio in size being smaller or Larger. If English is not you native language don't be afraid to seek more Education.
I can't believe I don't have a single p51 in my hangar. The Eflight 1.2m is definitely on my short list. I've had the 1.2m Trojan for a few months. And absolutely LOVE it. But, I think I'll end up pulling the trigger on the 1.2m p47 before I get this one. Such warbird sacrilege, I know😂. Thanks for showing off this beauty low and slow. It looks great! 👍
@@SunriseRCAviator thanks a lot, your videos are really helpful, and anyways, I am a beginier with this so not worried about agility and speed. Will invest in 4s later. Only the tyres were confusing me. Thanks
Hi, great chanel. I'm looking to get my 3rd RC plane after learning to fly with the arrows pioneer, then moving onto the arrows prodigy. Would you recommend the bigfoot over all the other bush style planes? I really like the look of the tundra aswell. Cheers.....Mario 👍
Thanks for commenting! Arrows Bigfoot is one of the best bush planes and a plane you can grow with so highly recommended. The new Tundra V3 is also great but overall I like the Bigfoot better.
@@SunriseRCAviator Thanks for getting back to me. The Bigfoot it will be then. You have all the planes I was considering, and if you say the Bigfoot is the best, I will take your advice. Thank you, love the chanel. 👍
@@SunriseRCAviator just taken delivery of my bigfoot and getting it set up. What percentage do you recommend for flaps, take-off and landing, and what percentage do you mix for elevator on both please? 👍
@@SunriseRCAviator OK cool, what about the range of the flaps? My radio ranges from -100 (no flaps) to +100 (full flap range) where do I need to be? Thanks 👍
Thanks! It is a little bit more difficult plane to handle during landing than the usual bush plane. It's also a bit heavy so I do lots of landing practice with mine.
@@did3d523 I had two but the only thing that went bust was the front wheel. The 1.2m ranger might suit you as it is a great plane and solid front wheel.
I agree with you 100%. This is a fantastic low wing plane. I only have four RC planes and had to have one of them as a low wing. I too fly on long grass and put on larger wheels. Found out the hard way though. You need to have some speed on landings. It will just drop to the ground and destroy your landing gear. Thanks for another nice review.
So what is the fastest prop I can put on without burning out the speed control, is a tri or 4 blade prop worth trying? I've thought 2 blades are the fastest 🤔
Our Old Mate has recently taken time off from destroying his E-flite high-wingers and switched to a couple of jets. To assist with take-offs he now uses a bungy launcher. Much easier on his bad legs. Not so far to go to collect the pieces when they hit the bungy anchoring post! 😱😈
@@SunriseRCAviator 🤔 Now, Now, Sven! As he's well up in his 80s we've all got to cut him some slack! He's having some fun and getting some outside exercise plus there's no point in aiming for a gold-plated coffin. 😉😂😂
Nice flying. Good handchucker, this one, on full power. Even on Safe with full throws and rates and a 3S 2200 shes still a good performer. Power off for a long, low glide and a bit of flare works for me. Check the esc is fastened securely or it will slip forward and jam the two elevator control rods.
