Ever compared Zimbabwe today with Rhodesia a few years ago ? In 1975, the average annual income for a Rhodesian was around US$8,000 (equivalent to $45,000 in 2023) with income tax at a marginal rate of 5% - making them one of the richest communities in the world. Today's Zimbabwe has faced what seems like a perfect storm of hardships: droughts, mind-boggling 300% inflation rates, and the added economic fallout of a totally corrupt government that's left nearly half the population of Zimbabwe in poverty.
