Well done. You're the first poster that has shown where the solenoid is located. If it's just a bad solenoid, you don't need replace the starter, right?
Excellent video...explanation of vital measurements very clear & clear. I'm going to change timing chain & components on my sister's 2010 CR-V. Also check valve lash clearances. The rod length measurement is great too (chain tensioner..not husband's) 😄👍
Watched a ton of videos before attempting. Yours seemed the most logical. Clearly you are a pro mechanic. I am not, but I’ve had my crv for 10 yrs and have not had to take to a shop, thanks to you! So glad I found your vid. There was no way I could have loosened that 17mm from the bottom! Ps, I didn’t have to take the front grill off.👍🏻💪
i did this now on my honda crv 2008 2.4 but the light of the abs, esp, cruice control, and others they don't light, also on the left corner down there's a light that says light control. on the screen it says error 1, what does this mean? how can i fix it?
I like it better when you explain each step and having a body to put some light into what you are doing. Looking from a far side is difficult to see. Specially for people like me who are not mechanics .
God bless Honda/Mitsuba starters and alternators. I got 250k miles out of mine. Decided to rebuild the factory starter and not get an aftermarket starter. Those only last a couple years if lucky. Talking about AutoZone ones. The remans and even new ones are made with inferior materials. For example, the planet gear ring (big circle with notches around the casing) are made of polymer, instead of metal like the factory ones.
I got it once where they got the year wrong, so I got to describe it as "Yoshi laying an egg" and it went so far over that poor kid's head. Got a lady in last night with a list from her brother. At the bottom was "price out flux capacitor". I sent her home with the printout with "priceless" written in. It literally made my day. Sometimes pranks are fun but omg, sometimes they cross the line. Like when we have all people busy and a line out the door and 5 lines already lit up and customers walking out because the wait is too long because we have to hunt a part and someone wants a warranty lookup and at that point, we just have to get pissed at the calls because why does the Internet exist?!?!?!
All that I did was I purchased a new set of brush, cleaned the armature wipe every moving components with alcohol re lube the gears and there you go it’s good for another 200,000 miles. It cost me somewhere around 60 dollars versus the dealer wanting the core and on top of that you still have to pay 530.00 dollars for the rebuild ones.its really such a simple job I just took my time and it paid of credit to the people on RU-vid.you guys are my hero.what ever I need done heather if it’s home project or what ever else I turned to RU-vid it’s been a blessing.....
hello, thank you for this video! I just did a ton of work to this honda crv and now im worried the motor might be bad, it runs super smooth but when you rev it with quick burst it make what sounds like either a chain slap or my worst fear a bottom end noise (its so hard to differentiate) Ive read alot about these engines having a cold start rattle from vtc (but i dont have any cold start rattle) at idle its like a sewing machine, 140,000 miles on the car, i see that metal piece in the timing cover you said the chain could have hit, have you ever seen the chain stretch enuf to hit that metal?? i know on other engines the chain can stretch so much it eventually hits the valve cover and makes a noise, i just didnt know if hondas can do something similar, its only when i rev it quickly to like 4-5 k rpms. thanks sorry for long post
My 2010 Crv Honda air condition not working I have checked all fuses their ok and gas too ok , but if I on the ac switch the ac clutch is working but if I do activation test on my scan tool you will see the is working, I do auto scan but I only find b1008 , but I want to know can this faults code causes Ac not working at the same time the remote too not working help me to solve this issue
I have a 2007 honda CRV with a non working gas gauge. It always showing 3/4 full while filling up with gas. I see yours is 398 miles before empty. What is the number of miles when you 100 % fill up with gas? In this way ill just rely on my trip meter.
Oh. My. GOD- A Spree! Such cool little scoots, thanks a ton for the stroll down memory lane! I had the same one in grad school (red) n miss it dearly everyday 😢!!!
Does this reset and update mileage as well? say you put a cluster from another car with different mileage, would this make it update to what the car has on it?
Nothing wrong using that equipment to get the truck free on the last one. I guess the cammer wanted a heavy tow truck to get it unstuck. In weather like that it could be hours before a tow truck could get there. Heck we have done the same thing with trucks in mud too. And that truck is too big for where he was trying to plow. It's bad enough in a 3500 extended cab
Make sure to check the hood release cable before you close the hood! This efffup job will be harder than the starter swap (90% successful, forgot a vacuum hose so the idle is crazy).
I've replaced a few chains and a lot of belts. I'm in the middle of head removal on a 2010 K24....I will say that belts>chains. I'd rather replace a belt twice than a chain once.
FANTASTIC!!! YOU REALLY CHECKED ALL THE BOXES IN MY BOOK. I hold 3 mechanical disciplines and I'm no Piker when it comes to automotive either... It is a rare occasion when use a YT info or DYI Vid.....surfing through mounds of useless (or worse: irresponsible style) information that sets people up for failure, hazard, injury and etc. Without previous experience re the K-24... I was prepared for long & deep "rabbit hole" trip in the internet. excruciating show of internal engine access (backdrop1000 tool laying around) >> if someone needs that THEY SHOULD NOT TOUCH ANYTHING EVER!!! A HUGE THANK YOU SIR! ILLUSTRATIONS THAT MAKE SENSE (TO TENTH POWER) !! DAMN SON>>> NAILED ITON PRESENTATION!! A HUGE THANK YOU SIR! FOR UNDER 15 MIN. A WEALTH OF DATA OF ADVANCED INFO for A GUY LIKE ME . I WONT MAKE MOVE WITHOUT ON ANYTHING. (I have shit ton of that kind thing in my head...but not that). Yes, over all everything is exactly the same ... but design concepts are endless and done being spanked LOL years ago A HUGE THANK YOU SIR! narrowing the parameters (from the engineers)!! Heads up to the engineers who are reading this.... are you absolutely sure your concepts work in PRATICAL APPLICATION? Common place is >>"what looks good from afar is far from good. WE will call you on it every chance WE get! A HUGE THANK YOU NICOLE! My girl is as fun as you are .... giggling like Beavis and Butthead at the subjective terminology and statements. Respect!! We know you were the camera was bouncing and we were laughing with you!! My daughters car I will let you know how goes. and post another (it will be shorter) DIMO
2007 Honda CR V 320 k meters, still running and rattling noise come from engine. I am going to open it, balance shaft oil pump chain is necessary to replace or still usable ? Hi Joe may I know your 2010 CRV Mileage .Thanks.
